I enjoyed my stay at Cae Fynnon - in squally weather but this is a small sheltered site so all was well.
The single loo and single shower are rather old but all works fine and are clean. A small kitchen area has charging points which were very welcome.
I got to know everyone arriving as the owner wasn't able to be there so I passed on his instructions. (But Len, if you read this, that sign to reception confuses everyone now there isn't one!)
Lots to do nearby - Parys Mountain is a stunning relic of the industrial past, Amlwch ('Amlock') is a nice little place with cafes and shops, and Amlwch Port is pretty and has clifftop walks (too windy when I went!)

Pleasant, quiet campsite. Not packed at all for a bank holiday weekend.
Spoke to Len, the owner, his wife and cute dog who gave us advice to visit beautiful Lligwy beach to avoid the wind.
Facilities were basic but perfectly adequate.
Lovely hot shower. Nice pub next door selling local beers.
Will definitely visit again.

I love the simplicity Cae Ffynnon has to offer.
This simple and peaceful site is perfect if you want to get away from every day life and enjoy back to basics camping.
This site is a real hidden gem, the views are stunning, facilities clean and good sized pitches.
The owners are lovely and very welcoming and come to the site daily to check the facilities are clean and their guests are ok
The shower is coin operated and you get around 8 minutes of hot water for £1.
The site is dog friendly and has some lovely walks nearby.

Easy to find, small friendly basic, but this is what I wanted.
Easy electric hookups and very dog-friendly,
Short walk to the pub but I must stress this is diner focused and if you haven't got a table you may be asked to leave. But I also stress the pub doesn't belong to the campsite.

Nice friendly owner, convenient location for touring island.
Clean toilet…. Note that shower coin operated which cost wasn’t factored in with the £23 per night site fee.
Nice pub next door serving lovely food.

If you are looking for a family friendly luxurious camp site then go elsewhere.
If you are looking for a very friendly site with basic amenities that is cheap, then you can't ask for more.
I believe the site has circa 12 pitches rather than the 20 stated above, some with shingle bases, some suitable for camper-vans and others tents. It does have fantastic views of the countryside and is protected from the elements from 3 sides.
I was camping on my own, choosing the site as it has lots locally to ride and see such as Parys Mountain, Llyn Alaw and Llyn Cefni.
The owner Len and his partner are really friendly and turned up each day working on the site, doing such thins as mowing the grass, cleaning the facilities or planting shrubs.
His mate Gareth who is currently based on the site all summer is a fantastic bloke, full of many funny stories, as I found out going down 'The Ring' pub each night with him which is only 20 yards away.
He eats down there every night but the food was too expensive for my tastes, so I used the take-away's from Amlwch, (pronounced Amlock for us English), which has a great chippy that does burgers, pizza's and Kebabs, Just don't bother with the Chinese take-aways if I were you as the one I tried was a bit grim.
OK, there is only 1 toilet and 1 shower on site, and the washing up area currently has no hot water, but if the toilet is out of toilet roll then Gareth can get another from storage. If you are a real camper you always take your own toilet roll just in case anyway!
The shower works on pound coins and 1 coin lasts 8 minutes which should be ample. The shower and toilet were cleaned every day I was there.
Don't worry about the review saying that the dog next door was barking. It has now grown up and I saw it but never heard it. I did see Graham, it's owner though, and he's a great bloke too who had a beer with me.
The noisiest things there were the birds at sunrise, but if you don't like that then don't go camping.
I have memories that will last a long time from this holiday and I'm oh so glad that I visited and met all the people that I did.

Really appreciate the hospitality Len gave us in regards to letting us stay the night free of charge because we were doing a sponsored walk of the Welsh Coast to Coast challenge of 870 miles in support of The Royal British Legion.
Thanks Again

We arrived and tried to find the signposted reception which turned out to be an abandoned derelict horse box. I asked another camper how to contact the owner, the camper fang him and he turned up a short time later. We had asked for hardstanding but as the only two on the site were occupied he suggested we park on the roadway, we eventually pitched Ona flat grass pitch.
The site appeared unkempt with long grass, the advertised toilet ( which has no toilet paper a small grubby basin and no hand drying facilities and shower are in a small very dirty brick building as is the washing up area which also houses the coin machine to operate the shower next door.
On our second day the owner and partner painted inside the toilet and shower. I pointed out the lack of toilet paper and was told it was endless replacing the rolls, I complained that we expected toilet paper he later returned with one toilet roll which he left outside our motorhome. I put it in the toilet and by next day it was used, it wasn’t replaced. Adjacent to the site was a garden housing a large very loud barking dog, which the owner told be belonged to his son. I pointed out the endless barking but was told “it’s just a pup”.
From our experience the owner visits once a day to clean the toilet and collect fees. He is a very sociable man and gives his number to ring in case of problems.
The site is in a lovely location and very close to a pub with good food accommodation and it’s own campsite. I would not use this site again. With some care and attention and a deep clean it could be a very good site

Just visited this site with my family and friends. At first I thought am we in the right place here as there was no one to be seen. I contacted the campsite number and a very friendly gentleman answered the phone to be told ok we will be down shortly. We were then greeted by one of the owners of the site who was also very friendly and she showed us our pitch and explained where the shower & toilet was. I asked about payment as no deposit or payment was asked for at the time of booking. The lady told us to get ourselves organised and settled in first and then she would come back to sort it, which is what they did. This made us feel very comfortable & knew we had made a good last minute choice.
Although nothing on the site for the children to do they made their own entertainment, as there was only us on the side they put us on so they played football, rugby & bowls! The girls just loved looking at the cows with their calves!
The site did seem to be in middle of no where but 10 mins away was Cemeas Bay & Almwch which are lovely places to visit. The good thing about this site is there's a pub called 'The Ring' right on the doorstep which we cannot fault at all. We were made very welcome all everyday even the children.
Overall we had a fabulous long weekend we were made to feel very welcome in the lovely, friendly village of Rhosgoch and would visit again!
