I have just spent a lovely four days camping at Annfodd. Myself and my partner and our camper and an awning.
We were greeted warmly and shown round the site which is not too big and has just what we need when camping - a clean toilet and sink with hot water, a clean spacious shower with plenty of hot water and an outside water tap. Also bins for waste and recycling. There is electric hook up available.
We were offered eggs from Judie's free range hens which were gratefully accepted and firewood for our fire basket but camp fires are allowed even without a basket. (very important in our opinion) Everything was very reasonably priced and the whole experience was easy and relaxed.
Judie and John are very friendly, helpful and know the area so can advise guests on where to visit. We spent a day at the national trust gold mine which was an experience I thoroughly recommend and we also went to the beach which was beautiful. The countryside is lovely and there are plenty of places to visit.
There are shops nearby within driving distance and Carmarthen town not too far away with a very good shopping centre and an indoor market.
We met all of Judie's animals which are happy and pleased to see you - especially Donna the dog who was the first to greet us. She is very friendly and well behaved.
We had the campsite to ourselves and we had the best holiday.
Judie showed us round one of the two holiday cottages that was not occupied at the time and it was lovely. The weather was very varied when we stayed and if we were not such rugged campers(!) I could easily have taken a cottage for the holiday. I would recommend this accommodation very highly for anyone who wants to get away from the stresses and strains of city life and relax in calm rural surroundings.
Our whole time away was a breath of fresh air.

Myself Andrew, Wife Nic and two daughters, Lucy 14 and Katy 11 have just had a fabulous time at Anfodd.
We were greeted by John and Judie who both made us feel very welcome and promptly gave us a tour of the smallholding. We were introduced to Donna the Dog who is lovely and very very friendly, Gadaffi Duck, Buster the Rooster with his entourage of hens and we did get a glimpse of Katmandu the farm cat who is very protective of the other animals.
There were also 3 sheep at the bottom of our field who stared at us for long periods when we were cooking our breakfast.
The site is very nice with plenty of room for the children to run around, there are some electric hook ups available and a new shower and toilet facility.
We visited the pub down the road for a typical farmers meal (meaning huge portions) and I sampled the real ale which was very good, we were also made to feel very welcome by the friendly locals and I was even invited to try some local home brew ale coming in at around 9%. Very good stuff.
John and Judie gave us some useful information about places to visit and about a half hour drive through some lovely rural roads with fantastic scenery got us to Newport Bay Sands which is a very clean beach where you can park the car on the beach and relax, the sea is clear and there is a small shop selling the usual beachwares, ice cream and rolls etc. There is also a beautiful looking golf course there which overlooks the beach.
The only downside we found was the lack of a shop but as long as you take enough food for a few days you should be fine as John and Judie have various fruits and vegetables growing in their polytunnel. They are so kind that if you run out of anything they will probably lend you what they have as we can testify when our airbed sprung a leak, John popped back within minutes with a spare for us to borrow. A real lifesaver.
I have been to many campsites but this is up there with the best for peace and quiet and beautiful views etc, if you want hustle and bustle, swimming pools, playgrounds etc then this site is not for you but if it's a nice relaxing break with excellent hosts then you will not make a better choice than Anfodd.
We will definitely be going back with more of the family soon.

Just back from a great stay at Anfodd Holidays, with us in our campervan, my brother in law in a tent and mother in law in one of the cottages, so we really got to see all the facilities first hand and they were excellent!
The campsite is a simple field with all the necessaries and great views. The cottages are full of features and very well equipped and it was fun for the kids feeding the animals and collecting amazing fresh vegetables plucked straight from the polytunnel!
Thanks Judie and John for being so welcoming and giving us so many ideas of places to visit, beaches, hill walking and interesting towns and villages all on the doorstep. I'm sure we will be back soon!

I spent a wonderful peaceful few days over the Bank Holiday weekend at Anfodd Holidays. I am a solo camper (if you don't count the dog) and Judie & John made me so welcome.
This is a small working farm on the edge of a small village with a honey farm and a freehouse pub. They make honey ice cream! By the end of my stay it seemed everyone in the village knew about me and every time I popped into the pub with my dog, I was made most welcome. The pub does some hot food, but not an extensive menu.
The camping field was almost level, with hedges all around, a freshwater tap and a CDP point (created in a very unique way). There are also 2 very nicely renovated cottages available for hire. They hope to be able to offer the rental of a caravan soon too. Planning permission has been applied for for a toilet and shower block but in the meantime you need your porta-potti.
When I visited the weather was mostly windy with some rain at night. The site was gently sloping and whilst John warned sometimes the entrance to the field gets muddy, I had no problems. The field, as you look down to the farm, is south facing so you can organise yourself to have the sunshine all the time if you want. There are no designated pitches and it was really relaxed.
You can buy your fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables from the farm, along with your very fresh - and yummy - free range eggs.
Anfodd Holidays is the perfect touring base for West Wales. It is situated a short driving distance from Carmarthen, Tenby, Pembroke, Milford Haven, St David's, Fishguard and Cardigan. It is also close to the wonderful Preseli Mountains, Whitesands, Newgale and Freshwater West surfing beaches and the lovely countryside in between. From Preseli you can see all around you at these places, and with Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains in the distance to the east.
As a surfer I would have preferred to be nearer the beaches, but from a touring point of view, first class. From a walker's point of view you need a vehicle to get to the places you can walk off-road. The footpaths near the site were extremely difficult to find, if not impossible.
Site facilities: there aren't many but that didn't bother me - toilets & showers would attract more people though! Value for money: difficult because I was there on a special promotion.
