Stunning location, highly in the mountains. Brilliant walking base, with access to glaciers.
Nice village setting with a couple of bars and shops.
The site is huge and was quite crowded. Facilities are very good and well maintained.

This is one of the best campsite we have been to!
Set in a valley with the most outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and a glacier you cannot beat waking up to these views, the sound of waterfalls and general peace and quiet.
This is a large site with an upper area which is laid out with varying sizes of pitches on a hill and a lower site which is spread over a meadow.
The site can accommodate any size of vehicle but the upper site would be tricky with a large motorhome or caravan.
There are three sanitary blocks situated throughout the site. They are all spotlessly clean with all you would need facilities wise. There is a small reception which stocks the basics.
La Fouly is just a 5 minute walk away and is a small hamlet with a bank, supermarket and several restaurants - all very quaint.
You could easily spend well over a week here as the walks, bike rides and other activities available from the site are numerous. For those with children there are a couple of play areas, table tennis, a tree top climbing area and climbing wall all right next to the site. There is also a cable car ride in Fouly.
We needed a holiday which combined rest, peace and quite, great surroundings and walks and Des Glacier fulfilled all of these and more.
We would definitely recommend this site.

We stayed here for 5 nights and had the most fantastic time, we had mixed luck with the weather which was glorious for the first 2 days and we soaked up the magnificent views from the site, we had a pitch up on the top field which although a good walk from the facilities block had very large pitches and the most magnificent views up the glacier!. We had a day walking up the mountain on the opposite side of the road from the site (although we cheated a little and took the chair lift up the first part of the climb). The next 2 days were pretty wet, (on the 3rd morning we woke up to find ourselves inside a cloud but we found plenty to keep us occupied and the different weather served only to make our experience of the area more varied. There are a couple of pretty good restaurants and a supermarket in the village which we found very handy.
I would most certainly return here and would without doubt recommend this site to friends.
