Stayed at the Beach Garden part of the site in the overflow area over the road. Arrived 17th august and this part of the site was starting to empty which was nice. Toilets/showers were fine though toilets and indoor sinks locked at 11pm so you have to brush your teeth in the washing up sinks which were next to the toilets - not sure about that they could do with a different area to wash pots.

Best things were the beach, the staff, the weather and decent pitches - better on the overflow side than the beach side. I think had the site been full it wouldn't have been quite so nice. Good entertainment each evening by great staff and relatively quiet after 11 or 12pm - if you want to go to bed early maybe try somewhere else but you can probably find a quiet basic site a lot cheaper anyway.

Overall pretty good, kids liked it, maybe avoid absolute peak weeks if you don't like crowded sites.

We have just come back from this site and I have to say that we were very happy there.

The site was clean and tidy all the time we were there, the toilet blocks and showers were kept very clean but the block nearest to the swimming pool did sometime have a bit of a drain smell now and then, the far block was spot on and this is the block with no french style loo`s.

The pitches are of a good size but are tight to get into, easy though with a motor mover.

We found it to be quite at night after 23. 00 hrs. But there was one night when someone played load music out on the road outside.

Plenty of shops out of the gate and it is not to far to the hyperU supermarket.

There is direct access to the beach and you have to know the code to get in and out, lovely beach.

We enjoyed it so much that we will be booking again next year.

We booked this site after two years of very mediocre weather in the Vendee and were rewarded with two weeks of almost unbroken sunshine. The weather really must be the main draw to this area because the countryside is not particularly inspiring and the attractive towns are few and far between. Beziers was pleasant enough but like everywhere in the area the traffic was appalling. Marseillan Plage itself can only be described as pretty tacky with loud bars and only vaguely reasonable restaurants. Marseillan old town was much more attractive, especially the port where there were some lovely restaurants. The boys had fun at Aqualand which was nearby and we also took an enjoyable boat ride around the waterways of Cap d'Agde.

The campsite itself, a Yelloh!Village, was divided into two sections - Nouvelle Floride and Charlemagne - divided by a narrow road. We were on the Charlemagne side which was fairly quiet and mainly made up of statics with tourers and a few tents slotted inbetween. The toilet facilities were spacious, modern and clean and there were good sinks for washing up and three washing machines. At busy times the showers were usually not warm enough but the weather was so hot it was not a problem. The reception was efficient and quick although there was nowhere to pull up while we checked in so our caravan was blocking the road outside until I had paid the balance and they allowed us through the barrier. If we visited this site again I would probably book a pitch on the Nouvelle Floride side as there were many more independent campers and it had direct access to the glorious sandy beach. It also had the bar, entertainment area and football pitch. Both sites had pools which were excellent and well monitored by lifeguards.

The evening entertainment was mostly of a high standard and we often ended up watching at the end of the night. Drinks from the bar were pretty expensive and those that weren't eg. Red wine, were virtually undrinkable.

The main problem we had with this site was that our friends were staying in the Keycamp section of the Charlemagne side which is really in a completely separate annex. There is access from the main site during the day through iron gates across a small gravel roadway but that is locked after 8 o'clock meaning it was a 10 minute walk up to the front of the site, along the badly lit, narrow road to reach them. They also suffered from terrible noise problems from various bars and discos sometimes until 5 in the morning. I really wouldn't advise visiting this site with Keycamp. There may also have been some Eurocamp caravans in this area. Security seemed to be quite tight, especially at night, and we all had to wear wristbands for the two weeks.

Overall we had a really good holiday, fabulous weather and the boys made lots of friends, but I wasn't impressed with the area or its traffic problems and for those reasons I probably wouldn't visit this site again.
