We packed the car and headed for Betws-y-Coed where we have visited and stayed on many occasions, we didn't know where we were going to be staying and came across Hendre Farm and was not disappointed, we were warmly welcomed by the owner who was very helpful and pitched our tent.
The views are amazing and we really enjoyed our night on this site. We found the facilities clean but in need of a refurbishment.
The village is only a shortwalk away and has a whole range of shops for supplies. Hendre farm is a great base for discovering the surrounding area and Snowdonia.
We found the site a little basic for the money and would probably only stay one night max. aAlthough we liked the site the facilities let it down a little.

Stayed here for three nights. Best location for camping in betsw y coed.
New owners for last few years and we weren't welcomed very well because we were a family group, however we were treated really well after we didn't cause any noise. As stated before the no noise rules are well explained, maybe a bit too much.
The facilities are a bit basic with no playground for kids and the showers are adequate.
The owners have plans to develop the site and maybe then we shall have some better facilities. To sum up even though it would benefit from electric hook up and posher showers it is still the place to camp for convenience.
The shops and pubs are ten minute walk away, including the cake shop at the local spar which is fantastic.
They also allow touring caravans now, if you can live without electric hook up.

Visited this site to give it a try really, the site is situated very close to the town.
The main road (a5)runs alongside the site so traffic noise exists,we paid £7 a night per person.
Toilet block charges for hot water (sink, shower, dishes sink)also one plug 50p this supplies a mobile phone with two bars,i think there was also a 10p meter for something(make sure you have change)no soap in gents although soap in ladies.
Pitches get a little boggy when raining.
Bbq allowed but must be off the ground (tried to burn kindling in bbq and told not to, coals only)
This site is a no noise site and this was mentioned on arrival quite strongly (maybe to strongly) lovely area and lots of walks close at hand.

What a pleasant area, ideal location, but the toilets and showers need some 'real' modern touches. £36.00 for two days (2 x adult + 1 x child and still you have to pay for any hot water
Could do with a small shop on site, for last minute bits, but main village not too far away,
Numerous walks available into local area,
Would use again for a short visit, but would struggle with toilet block for much longer,

This campsite must be one of the most suitably located farm based campsites for motorhomes. It is only a 10 min stroll to the centre of Betws-y-Coed whilst feeling secluded. The village has a wide range of cafes, pubs ice cream parlours and a great bakery in the SPAR shop, selling great croissants, cakes, pasties and sandwiches.
There are regular buses (some open topped) to most areas of North Wales. The site itself does not have all the facilities some motorhomers would look for. No Hook up or bespoke waste disposal facilities but we managed easily as the motorhome area is central about the drinking water supplies and near enough to the shower / toilet facilities to make disposing of grey water and toilet waste easy with very little effort.
Although the toilet/shower block and dish wash are in need of a little updating they are kept very clean and cope easily with the weekend rush. The site does not take advanced booking but as there is an area dedicated for motorhomes and caravans who do not seem to have found the beauty of this site yet it is not a problem, just turn up, set up and wait for one of the lovely couple who run the site to come and collect the fees.
We paid £12 per night for our motorhome with two adults and it was well worth the money. We initially paid for three nights but enjoyed it so much stopped for five night. We will definitely be back.

We will definitely use this site again as a base for exploring North Wales. It is ideally located just a few minutes walk outside Betws y Coed and about 20-25 minutes drive to the bottom of Snowdon.
The owners are very friendly and turn up on site a couple of times a day to collect money and have a chat with the campsite occupants. Unfortunately the site does not take advance bookings and it was certainly busy on the Saturday night so it may be an idea to either schedule to arrive on a weekday or to get there early.
The prices are reasonable at £7 per adult, although there is a £5 one off 'under-occupancy charge' if you turn up with a tent too large for your party (ie a large 4 man tent with only 2 adults staying). I would also advise taking plenty of 20p pieces as you will need them for the shower (40p is usually enough) and for the hot water for washing up.
The toilet block is relatively basic with 2 showers in each of the male and female halves. Although the site was busy, we did not have to queue at all during our stay.
The town is about a 10 minute walk away along a well lit pavemented road. There are a number of pubs and restaurants in the town (certainly enough to keep us happy for a week). We ate at the Dragon Restaurant (Chinese), the Royal Oak Hotel and the Betws y Coed Welsh Bistro, all of which served extremely good food. The Saddle Bar also has a more informal and lively pub atmosphere.
All in all a very good campsite in an excellent location.

We visited in August and as you can't book were able to get a pitch without problems despite being a bank holiday weekend. There are statics all around the outside, a large area for tents and the middle section for motorhomes only. There is no hook up and no motorhome dumping station so waste water has to be bucketed out and toilet waste goes down the loo. The toilet and shower facilities leave a lot to be desired for the fussy amongst us and are all at extra charge. The site is under new ownership so maybe an upgrade is on the way. We had a lot of late night noise from one of the statics and three tents were allowed to pitch within a few feet of the back of us. However it is in a lovely setting, the owners were very nice and it is just a 10 minute stroll from the middle of the village where you will finds lots of shops and eateries. There is a tourist information place in the village which is very attractive and well worth a visit.
