 Big site 5mins from town centre, 2 mins from supermarket.
Clean facilities. Motorhome Aire next door.
Composting for organic waste.
Railway station closed/ mothballed. Restaurants mainly closed in July. Lots of walking.
A Via Ferrara, climbing, high ropes course, cascades to look at and a proper Victorian furnicular.

This is a minimal site with clean toilets and showers but no other facilities. Tents are segregated from caravans &c.
The site is nicely placed next to the River Dordogne (very small at this point) on the other bank of which is the railway station. The train journey to Clermont-Ferrand travels along the chaine des puys and is quite spectacular.
Ten-fifteen minute walk into the centre of Le Mont Dore with many cafes, restaurants and shops; very helpful tourist information centre where the local weather prediction is posted daily! Ideal touring centre with road connections in all directions (to La Bourboule, Tour d'Auvergne, Super-Besse &c). There are some good walks in and around the town as well as a funicular up to the hills and an 'adventure area'.
