I completely agree with the above review! This site was horrendous and poor value for 50€ a night. Terrible night's sleep, horrendous euro disco at high volume till 12 (and they practised for the disco all day long with microphone up to max). The road was noisy, the teenagers were noisy from 12-2 after the bar closed and then from 5am as presumably some club closed. The bins are emptied at 2. 40am just in case you were asleep in the meantime. We intended to stay 4 nights and left after 2, which was 2 nights too long. Toilet blocks were dirty, possibly because the site was busy but other sites seem to manage. I saw nobody cleaning the facilities and the design was such that sand was traipsed through the showers at the front and grey mud was everywhere. I'm not that fussy but they were quite disgusting. The only good thing was the dune, which was amazing and well worth seeing.

Arrived at the site and reception spoke English. Were shown to our pitch next to the dune. The pich was very sandy and difficult to peg the tent down. ( If you complain later they say they have pegs you can use, shame they don't mention this when you arrive). Nice sized pitch for 6m tent. All OK until 1.30 am in the morning when the drunk youths travel to and from the dune past your tent. We were woken about once an hour an kept awake as they chatted and laughed. The site said there was nothing they could do to stop it. I suggested that they needed security here all night, they said thay could not do this.
This continued for the whole holiday. If you are a noisy group of youths who like to play music all day drink all night and play on a sand dune this is the palce for you. No noise restrictions until 11pm on your pitch. Then party until 2am in their bar,if you can afford 6 euros per pint (disco stops at 12am) Then annoy all the campers with your walk to the dune where you can be as noisy as you like all night.
Had a very stressed holiday. You can't easily walk to the beech from the site as it is 600m away up a 100m high dune.
We asked for a refund for some of the nights, They said we had short paid as they had cocked up our booking and demanded more money with threat of the police and eviction if we didn't pay. The coast road on which it lies is a nightmare traffic queue if you want to got to another beech. 3/4 hour to go 1 mile.
No seats on the toilets, no loo roll, no soap in the loos. The shower cubicle drains were blocked, and the cubicle walls were never cleaned. Vandles wrecked the taps,. People washed off their feet in and let their dogs lick the drinking water tap by our tent.
Shop was ok but expensive.
Bar was ok but expensive.
Local supermarket was 15mins away.
Nice freshwater lake with beech and swimming 25mins at Casaux.
At about 7pm the sun goes behind the dune and it gets a bit cool. At this time in the sun on the beech it is warm.
If you are pitched by the dune you get the noisy youths pitched all around you. If you pitch near the bar you get loud music until 12 midnight. In between you get passing noise.
One family near us chatted noisely until 2am keeping their kids up then moaned at us that our music had woken thier children at 9.30 am.
The managers made excuses for not keeping the noise down by not allowing youth groups, such as it might be bad for business, or it wasn't their security company.
Could be a great site out of season?
