A nice, basic, but very clean hostel.
There are two blocks. Block 1 has a large eating and cooking area, with 2 sinks, big stove, fridge, microwave, plenty of pots, pans, etc. They also supply washing liquid and dishtowels. There are 2 bunkrooms. The shower was broken but the toilet was working. All clean and tidy. Block 2 is an old blackhouse complete with thatched roof. 3 bunk rooms (or was it 2), shower room and toilet. This has recently been renovated and is stunning. Clean and tidy.
We were allowed to park our motorhome at the front but no EHU available. Cost of £8 per night for the van and a family of 4. Plenty of power points in the hostel if needed. The “keeper” comes around at about 6 at night and also cleans late in the morning.
Lovely setting with views to the hills on one side. On the other the beach is about 5 minutes walk away.
Please be aware you cannot reserve a bunk. Some people pitched their tents. A busy and beautiful little place. Lots of people cycling. Worth a visit.

We were asked £8 each for our small tent. We found that £16 was a bit pricey considering the place : very small kitchen and common room. Although the beauty of the surroundings, beaches etc.
Toilets et shower were brand new and hot water was free. The whole place was very clean.
Lots of flies because lots of cows nearby, very much interested by our tent. We had to chase them.
No shop nearby, the closest are in Daliburgh (nice co-op plenty of choice)southwards or Creagorry in the north. Think about it if you are cycling or on foot.

A very quiet a peaceful location - there was a total of three tents pitched there including ours. Camping is in the grounds of the hostel with the use of the facilities (toilet, shower, living room, kitchen area, washing up etc) and costs £6 per person per night. If you arrive after the warden has been round (as we did) then you simply sign in using the register and leave the money in a jar on the living room. There are also 13 hostel beds there although these cannot be booked in advance.
