Just back from a lovely stay at this site. Location is about 1k from the village, pleasant walk in or easy cycle ride. In village there are 2 bakeries, one open until about 7 pm most nights, they are both fantastic.
A fish mongers open until midday and a nice butchers, again open until midday. Plus the local village store which we found good value. There is also an organic weigh and save type shop. We made a conscious effort to buy only from the village and enjoyed the experience.
The market is on a Wednesday, it is small but feels nice. There is a good Intermarche on the outskirts of the village if needed.
There are several bars/cafes. We visited two and enjoyed watching the locals pass the time of day.
There is a pizza restaurant and a few pizza take aways. We ate at the pizza restaurant, our tip would be to share a pizza, the toppings are very generous and cheese heavy, we would go back, but maybe at lunchtime and go for the plate of the day.
A great little brewery on the outskirts of the village as well.
The campsite itself is a little gem, lots of French and Dutch campers as well as several British campers who have been returning for many years. Toilets are good, very clean and the washing up area is also kept nice. There is a washing machine a dryer, or basins. A nice touch is a few rotary drying lines with pegs just outside the toilets.
The pitches are good sizes and several have shade. We found a pitch where you could find shade or sun all day. Number 34. You are surrounded by apple trees on site and larger trees on the perimeter and local area, so it feels very tranquil.
If you concentrate you can hear the distant train, but they only seem to be a few each day. The birds are the main thing you hear, it is very peaceful. Our pitch was slightly sloping, but only very slight and we managed to level the van without any problems. The ground was good. A small shop on site, but not really needed due to village shops.
There is a small bar on site that we visited a couple of times, it opens mid July when the French season starts. We are not on-site bar people, in fact we normally avoid sites with bars, but as it is only small it had a nice feel to it and in the evening was the centre that lots of people gravitated to.
There are events laid on, the crepe night was really good and many locals also attended which was nice. There was a superb band one night and the day we left there was a small craft market on site in the evening. A small range of food was available from the bar.
There is a small playground and a table tennis table plus a pétanque pitch.
We hired an electric bike from the site for the day and cycled to Pont Aven. If you have a local map you can find tiny lanes to get from the campsite all the way to Pony Aven. The final mile or so being bike only lanes. Took us about a hour to make the trip. Nice lanes around the site for circular runs.
An ideal location for visits to Carnac, Pont Aven, Quimperle, Concarneau and lots of lovely walking on the coast near Nevez. Obviously the GR routs are well maintained, but we used some of the much smaller footpaths to create circular routes and these were all good paths as well.
So a lovely small site to use as a well served base to explore the region.

Nice site and within walking (or cycling) distance of the village. Very nice creperie (it gets busy so go early). Toilet facilities were fine but the taps only gave a short burst of water and would do with upgrading. Also paid for wifi but very difficult to get it going. Staff very friendly. Good quiet location but within easy distance of the coast and local towns/attractions.

Quite a quiet site. Really nice pitches, and you can roam around and choose your own. A decent amount of shade from trees and hedges. English hosts who are very friendly but not too 'in your face'. They have lots of regular visitors and several mobile homes on site, but they treat first-time visitors with just the same warmth as those they have known for years.
The facilities are all clean and tidy.
The site is quite a good centre for visiting Pont Aven, Fouesnant, La Forêt Fouesnant, Quimper, Concarneau and Locronan, which are all well worth a visit. The actual town of Bannalec is not a great tourist attraction, but you can get a decent meal there and the church is worth looking at. There is a supermarket about 1km from the site, which makes up for the lack of a shop on-site.
All in all a very relaxing place to be.

Les Genets d'Or is an easy 80 mile drive from Roscoff. The site itself has an abundance of trees and hedges, and very large pitches. We had a very warm and helpful welcome from Alan and Judy, even though we were early arriving, and this continued throughout our stay. The sanitary block is clean and well kept, and there is a thoughtfully organised guest facility next to reception which adds to the character of the place. Les Genets d'Or is in a quiet location, but close to some very pleasant towns and villages close by - notably Pont Aven which has lots of attractively preserved old stone buildings and a nice harbour. The wonderfully peaceful and natural headland, beach and coastal path at Raguenez are also near. In summary, a well organised and very friendly site in a tranquil area.

Immaculately maintained site with spacious pitches, some separated by mature hedges, most slightly sloping. Friendly, helpful English owners. Toilets always clean with handwash provided. Free showers always hot. Rotary driers available. 15 minute walk to pleasant town of Bannalec. Excellent coffee in Café de la Mairie! Very good patisserie, creperie and pizzeria all in main town square. Visits to Pont Aven, Concarneau, Quimper, Benodet, Quimperle all recommended and several small fishing ports also worth the effort.

Camping Les Genets d’Or is conveniently close to the N165/E60 expressway, and only a couple of hours from the Roscoff ferry. When following directions to the site, be careful not to take the very first turn after the level crossing in Bannalec - this leads into the supermaket! Take the turn to the site down the lane immediately after the large fire station just outside the town. The site itself is very neatly laid out in well demarcated and neatly hedged good-sized pitches. The toilet block is excellent, with separate washing-up room, plus washing machine/drier. Everything is immaculately maintained by the English owners. Electricity supply is 6-amp, in common with most continental sites, but we had problems tripping the fuse even using one item at a time. We think our microwave must have a high initial loading, so we avoiding using it. Around the area we visited Pont Aven - pretty but a bit touristy, and did an excellent circular walk along the GR34 starting from a beach car park near Tregunc using a local walks book from the tourist office in Pont Aven. This walk included visiting a couple of extremely pretty villages of thatched cottages. (Villages chaurmiere). We also visited Concarneau during our very short stay in the area - it is a big town with a large fishing port, not entirely to our taste, but the old fortress (Ville Close) is pleasant, if very touristy.

My husband and I stayed in the campsite's own accommodation. A converted cottage for 2. The cottage was amply large enough for 2. Bedroom, kitchen/living area, bathroom with shower and private patio area. Excellently equipped with patio furniture and barbeque. Every item of kitchen equipment was available from tin foil to matches!
The site itself is small and set in a quiet rural area with large trees and hedges surrounding all pitches. The location of the site was excellent for touring around and visiting all the nearby villages and towns.
The toilets and washing facilities are very adequate and very clean.
The owners of the site make a great effort in being welcoming and were very helpful in terms of informing us of local spots of interest and beaches worth visiting.
I would certainly recommend this site to other couples wanting a quiet relaxing break in Brittany.

As previous reviewers have found this is a quiet and relaxing site with most friendly owners.
Peace and quiet are the great beauty along with a wonderful bird life amongst the trees. The facilities are very clean if on the modest size. The pitches are arranged in pairs and of a generous area.
A site I shall use again. The area is full of interest and the beaches not that too far away.

This is a lovely quiet small country site with large pitches surrounded by hedges.
There are some static vans but most of these are privately owned and most were empty when we were there.
The owners are English and very friendly and helpful. There is a small games room but alas no swimming pool.
The facilities are not large but are clean and adequate.
If you want a quiet holiday away from it all then this is an excellent site. They also store vans for people who do not want to tow them back home. The rates for both storage and pitches are very reasonable.
There is asmall playground for children but I would not suggest that is is a children's site as it does not provide extra facilities for them. Having said that there were some children there at the time we went.
If your French is poor then this is the site for you. It is near to the coast but not so close that you can just go for a quick swim.
We will go again.
