One of the best sites we have stayed on in 27 years of camping in Europe. The staff could not have been more welcoming. The pitches are all large and flat, separated by small hedges, all with water and electricity, some facing the river and all beautifully maintained. The 2 toilet/shower blocks are small but were always spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water. The village of Vorey is a flat 200 metre walk away and has a couple of bars and restaurants and two excellent boulangeries /patisseries. The Sunday morning market is well worth a visit. The surrounding area is spectacular. Le Puy en Velay is delightful with a wonderful cathedral in the medieval centre, a lovely park at the foot of the old town and numerous bars and restaurants. We spent 2 days sightseeing there. St Etienne has a huge, vibrant market on a Saturday and 2 interesting churches. The Forteresse de Polignac is magnificent with wide ranging views over the surrounding coutryside.

This is a lovely friendly site in a small town. The owners are very friendly and helpful, maintaining a very high standard of cleanliness. The 2 sanitary blocks are checked and cleaned several times a day by the owners or their staff.
Pitches are large (there are a few smaller ones). We were shown around by the owner and allowed to choose a massive pitch. The site is very quiet and peaceful.
The adjacent pool complex is excellent, with water slides, free to campers, which will keep children amused for hours! There is also a snackbar/bar. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
It is a short walk to the town centre, where there are some shops, restaurants and banks. The boulangerie is excellent. It is a very friendly town.
There is an Intermarche about 2km from the site, a reasonable walk or short drive away. Le Puy en Velay is 22km.
This is a lovely area of France, very scenic and not too touristy, one of our favourite regions, we will definitely come back to this lovely site.
Market day is Sunday, so we would advise against arriving or leaving on Sunday mornings as the town square is used for the market and the road to the site gets congested with parked cars!
The site takes ACSI in low season.

Just back from spending 5 nights here in late August. A small and friendly site, perfectly situated hidden in the village or small town of Voray sur Arzon. The town has a great butchers, bakers and all you need within a 3 minute walk, plus an Intermarche a 4 minute drive away and a super Sunday market in the square.
The pitches are mostly large and well hedged, and there are just 50 of them. You choose your pitch (well when we went you could - and we hadn't booked in advance). Some by the very shallow river - with access or not.
The toilets and washing up areas (2 blocks) - proper loos but no looroll, fixed head showers and a slight lack of hot water taps - but kept spotlessly clean. Ping pong table, small play area and lots of French playing boules. No football allowed (no room!).
Another great attraction is the pool - which is much larger and nicer than it looks on google maps. It is free for campers and only for campers in the morning. In the afternoon the public can come (4 euros pp) - but there was only one day when it felt really busy while we were there, and even then most had gone by 6pm (it is open until about 10). It catches the sunlight wonderfully and has 2 great fast toboggan slides that kept our teenagers busy for ages. They also practiced diving on quiet evenings when we had the pool to ourselves because the pool slopes to 2 metres quickly. There was a lifeguard every time the slides were on. The public do not have access to the campsite from the pool and there is a nice cafe/bar to watch from in the shade if you want.
This area is really friendly and beautiful, surrounded by hills from extinct volcanoes, with clear starry skies (although the sun sets a little early because of the hills). Most campers were in campervans and retired or older, and were French with some German or Dutch - but we were very late in the season. There are some chalets or mobile homes to rent too. A quiet and fun site with a great pool in a beautiful but hilly area; the real Auvergne. The only downside for us were tiny biting flies that hassled our dog at sunset - but we just put him in the tent for a rest while we sat outside until dark.
Highly recommended. 7 out of 10 for children because of small play area - but there were toddlers and under 7s riding their bikes around. Non swimmers need arm bands. Speedos too unfortunately but the Intermarche sells them.

Just returned from three days at Les Moulettes - not long enough! Lovely site - the owners are friendly and helpful and obviously have a real sense of pride in the place. It's small enough to have a personal feel but has good facilities.
The pitches are large and you don't feel as if you're crammed in. Loos and showers were spotless! Swimming pool shelves rather alarmingly (for smaller children) but is fine once they get used to it.
Beautiful area - river gorges, small chateaux perched on cliffs - and very untouristy. We also enjoyed being so close to a town - it felt more like being in the 'real France' than on the other, bigger sites we went to.

My wife, daughter and I spent 4 nights here from 20 August 2009 in our VW campervan. It's a lovely little site, about 50 pitches. I'll just list some of the main points:
. Not expensive: about E22 per night including EHU . Owners very friendly & helpful, and speak some English . They took my booking via email without needing a deposit (and the expensive money transfer charges) . Very big level pitches . Quiet after 10pm . Toilets and showers clean and adequate for size of site . Water park with big pool and two slides . Small river running by for paddling . Snack bar/grill serving simple bistro food (& 50cl pichets of wine for only E3!) . No shop, but only 3 minute walk from village, where there are 3 boulangeries, a butchers, mini-market, hardware shop, 3 restaurants . Produce market on Sunday morning . Bigger supermarket about 15 mins walk . Beautiful area of upper Loire valley, with gorgeous scenery, not as touristy as some parts of the Auvergne . Secluded river swimming spots within 10 mins drive . Great afternoon canoeing down the Loire
We were the only Brits on site, the rest being mainly French with a few Dutch.
I can just close my eyes and imagine being back there, sitting outside the van in the hot evening air, sipping a cold beer, listening to the endless clanking of petanque balls.
