Sorry to have to say this, but probably the worst CL site we have been on in more than 20 years of touring. This was mainly due to the overcrowding; on the day we arrived there were nine units on the site plus one static. The pitch that had been reserved for us was squeezed in between two others; we were about four meters from our neighbours, barely enough room to get the car in between and open the doors! We would not have stayed had we had anywhere else to go. On the following two nights there was another camper van arrived making 11 units on site! To add to this, a camper from the far end thought he was on a race track on entering and leaving the site, splashing mud on the front of our caravan as he passed!
The grass hadn't been cut for several weeks, and the toilets were nothing special. We didn't use the pub, so no comment on this.
At £12. 00 per night not good value for the money. We never saw owner to be able to discus the matter.
Doubtless to say we will not be returning!

We camped here over Christmas 2015 - Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Would have stayed longer had weather been kinder.
The landlady was welcoming; the staff very friendly; the service excellent with a good atmosphere (good local pub), with range of real ales, priced reasonably. Bearing in mind this was over Christmas, the food was good value for money and plentiful, on both days.
Unfortunately because of endless rain, this December, the camp site was boggy, however, we were able to park in the pub carpark with access to campsite water and power. Also, we were unable to explore the area on foot, as planned, because the footpaths were saturated. Site facilities limited (which we knew in advance), however, access to the pub toilets at all times could have been available if required.
Children's playground on site was excellent; plus beer garden.
Hope to return someday ('The Meercats'!)

I had a difficult search for a Dorset site near a pub that would accommodate a group of campers with children for just one night over a bank holiday.
This site and in particular the wonderful friendly pub came up trumps. There are no facilities apart from the pub toilets for campers with tents but we knew this in advance & were prepared to give it a go as the pub is so good.
They left the door open so we could use the loos in the night. They were very friendly and opened up when we got there mid afternoon for drinks & the meal we had was fab.
Site is basically big level field with few hook ups on one side. Next to a quiet road but we were down one end so the kids were safe & didn't notice noise. £10 a pitch

We stayed for five nights at this immaculate and delightful site in order to visit the Dorset Steam Fair. From the first minute we were made welcome and had a lovely lunch at the pub before setting up.
We were so impressed with the food and prices we invited five family members from Shaftsbury to take lunch with us on the Saturday before departure.
The only comment is that the main road runs by the site but traffic is not noticeable at night. The local interesting town of Sturminster Newton is nearby with all that is needed food wise with interesting shops.
We would most certainly recommend this site and we will return whenever possible.
The cost is £12 per night including hook-up.

Had an unexpected extra day free and our original site could not accommodate us.
After browsing through the various sites in the area via the website we came across this one.
Called the landlady (Anne) who informed us that there were spaces available. For electric hookup it was £12 per night. We were allowed to arrive from 2pm and basically leave at any time in the morning.
On arrival we parked on the field. There was one caravan already there so we parked in the middle of the five hook ups as they had the end.
Once everything was sorted we went to the pub that was busy serving Sunday roast, Paid for our night at the bar and was left to our own devices.
The site is a field next to the pub.
It has 5 hook ups. They supply water and they have a chemical point.
Would use it again for a stop over.
