What an excellent site. How friendly. We normally do not like being in tight packed sites/rows but here it did not seem to matter - it was more like being at a private event somehow with everyone being friendly but polite and stopping to talk while they walked their dog/cat/toddler. I think we were the only English folks there. All pitches were grass and seemed to have shade from the trees around each pitch. The pitches were quite large. Departure was I think about 11am for campervans and 1pm for camping - which seemed just right.
We drove in on-spec while travelling to Switzerland, by chance reception was still open at 10pm and they admitted us no bother - just pay tomorrow kind of thing. The site seemed full so I think we were lucky and got a space- I noticed only two or three others - so booking probably a good move!. One younger lady spoke good English but I think the others understood Ok but did not speak confidently. My french was worse then their English!
We stayed 2 nights. Many families seem to go for a couple of weeks and there are kids having a great time everywhere on scooters etc - there was a lad in an electric wheelchair wizzing about with them and it all looked relaxed and friendly.
The site is quiet at night and does not have those horrid bright lights that seem to have taken over some sites. It is a fantastic location with a sandy beach and a nice lake. There was also an outdoor swimming pool - which seemed popular with family who had younger kids - this was included in the camp fees but we would have needed to pay a deposit and get wrist bands. Internet was available at a cost (reasonable/cheap) and there were good instructions in English(and french but not German) to get it set up.
The site has a shop which sells fresh bread/croissants etc and a restaurant/bar - we had a good meal of steak and chips and a desert for about 12 euro each. You do need to book. There was live music too the night we were there - which seemed to have a big following from those dining.
We swam and boated on the Lake on site which was lovely. We also visited the chateau de Joux about 15 mins drive away which was interesting with an English translation handset - although this was obviously much shorter than the french guides version - it was OK - kids got a bit bored however as too slow. Makes a change to hear someone else's history - found out that France banned slavery before we did and one of the main leaders of the revolution was imprisoned here. I see one review mentions Switzerland which is only about 20-30 minutes away- there is a toll if you go into Switzerland on the Motorway - we went in on a non motorway / minor road so there was no charge - you just have to be careful to get off the freeway before the border. There is no charge once inside the country.
My only gripe about this site would be the loos and showers. We were using the block away from reception. These seem very dated, the shower was cold/cool the day I used them about 4pm. The cubicals do not have an easy way to keep clothes dry while showering. There were no labels to say which cubicals were loos, showers, sinks etc and the only look roll was on a central reel. You get the picture! - seemed a bit behind the times. There were washing up sinks (4) one side of the loo block and laundry sinks (4) on the other.
All in all a site to be recommended if you are OK about the loo/shower situation being less than perfect. I think the block nearer reception was more moden. It is a good site for families, or for stopping off before Switzerland.

We stayed on Les Fuvettes for 14 nights from the 20th of June 2015 until the 4th of July. It is adjacent to Lac Saint Du Pont, and our pitch was right on the side of the lake and had a fence which would stop children or animals from running directly from the caravan door to the water, it also had trees to give shade during the hottest part of the day, which was more than welcome for most of our stay. The site has the usual facilities of, washing up/laundry and table tennis in a large room. The table tennis room is to the rear and separated. There are two Boules pitches near the the bar/restaurant, they also have an Inflatable which is available for use in the afternoon for 2hrs or so, and they have a swimming pool area available, which we did not use but looked nice enough, although on arrival we were told that a deposit for an access key was required. Whilst we were there, it appeared that most people preferred to swim in the lake, which is also used for sailing and fishing. The fishing permit is acquired from the tourist information office in Malbuisson at a cost of 32 Euros for a week. Switzerland is a short drive away 65Kms, but we were informed that a charge of 50 Euros to cross the border was required. The restaurant/bar has a large terrace overlooking the lake, food is of a good standard at a reasonable price, although there are restaurants in the village of Malbuisson about a 10-15 minute walk away, although we did not go to any, there are the usual shops and a small 8 til 8 supermarket, which closes at lunch and is not open 8 til 8, all the big supermarkets are in Pontaliers 11 kms away.
Good points :- friendly helpful staff in reception restaurant shop and bar although their English is limited, only to be expected. Very quiet at night and not lit with very bright lighting, but light enough to get around safely.
Bad points. Water can only be got from inside the laundry room, and grey water disposal is done at the mobile home disposal point. The chemical toilet disposal point is outside the main toilet block, but is not screened off in anyway.
The pitch we were on was not level, but only slightly sloping and looking round there was a slope on most pitches. There was a small access road to our pitch which a static owner insisted on parking his car on when we our or anyone on the neighbouring pitch had their car on their pitch. Not the site owners fault I know, but I asked him to move it several times and he obliged. The sanitary block was cleaned regularly, but was not the cleanest we have every been in but was more than usable, and there was always hot water for showering which are free to use and washing. Overall we had a good and very relaxing 2 weeks here.
If you look on the web site of Les Fuvettes, there are offers on certain dates we took advantage of stay for 14 nights and pay for 12.
