A nice peaceful site set in some lovely countryside four miles from Abergavenny. Easy to find just a few yards off a quiet B road.
A perfect base for those looking to explore this area.
When I visited it was term time so very quiet, but I can imagine kids having a wonderful time here.
Facilities are simple, basic and clean but what more do you need. (Shower runs on tokens at 50p each)
Site owners are very helpful and the dog likes to make friends with everyone.
Lovely to be able to have a fire in the evening, (I have a fire basket or there is a spot where you can have a camp fire. )
Nice to sit there with the Owls for company and a mug of tea or glass of wine.
If you want a site with lots of organised activities and a clubhouse then this is not for you. If you want something much simpler and more informal then this is what you are looking for.
Would I go back? Yes definitely.

I visited this site on the bank holiday in August and me and the kids had a brilliant time! It was remote and relaxing, the kids picked plums from the tree, fed the horses near by and we even cooked on a fire that we made on the site. The gentleman and his wife that runs the site was welcoming and very helpful as we were new to camping and felt we had loads to learn, yet he was very kind in helping us. There was shower and toilet facilities which were clean and we didn't have any major problems with our stay. We are hoping to become a regular and we can't wait to go back :-)

Having tried to book a site at short notice, during the August Bank Holiday, the only place that could accommodate us, was Ton Uchaf. To our surprise, there was us and a couple of tents, for the whole weekend ! Not that I had any complaints, it was nice to have the peace and quiet. For £12 a night, with electric hook up, you couldn't go wrong. Showers and toilets were basic, but clean. There was also a chemical waste disposal. Llanfapely village itself, had no shop or pub, but we did manage to have a good walk along one of the footpaths, off the main road. If your looking for a no frills site, with the basic facilities, then this could be for you.

Nice people, lovely farm dog 'Megan'. Great place for a couple of nights. Facilities basic but useful. Great site for Abergavenny and local area. Get back to basics on this site, electric hook provided, but turn off all your power, grab a seat outside and just relax and stare at the stars. Then in the morning, spend a day or so walking around the local area admiring all the history of the locality. DO not go if you need to be in the midst of the action, this is a place to contemplate and admire the country with 240 volts to assist you.

We did an 'over-nighter' at Ton Uchaf recently. It cost £10 per night in March with electric included
The owner suggested that we used the hard standings as the ground was still soft and came out to make sure that we found the right place; that in itself makes a change from some sites that I have had the misfortune to use.
The WCs and Showers are clean if a little old fashioned. There was an abundance of hot water. The hook ups all worked. The grey and black water disposal was well set up and could be used by Motorhomes like mine: We have bulk holding tanks - other sites should take note of this.
The lower part of the site is sheltered but further up it is sloping.
It is set in a pleasant rural area and would make a great centre for a walking holiday.
There is also over winter caravan storage available. I didn't ask how much but there were a good number of vans stored there so it is obviously popular
Would we use the place again? Yes without a doubt.
