Please note this site has two adjoining areas. A screened off lower section of nudiste naturist (FKK) use pitches (with separate toilet block) which is fully separate from the main upper section of clothed (textile) pitches.
65% textile pitches / 35% naturist pitches

Please note:- long stay overwintering review (60+ nights) / Car & Caravan outfit / two small dogs. NB We do overland France route down.
We have short stayed on & visited very very briefly many of the hugely different types of sites for overwintering in Spain. You may very likely have different priorities & criteria to ours when choosing a site.
We are very sadly unable to return to this site in Winter 2020/21 because of the on-going CV19 travel restrictions.
For us on balance Cuevas Mar & the area appeals - a modest size & quieter locality / site, minimal shade for maximum Winter sunlight & natural warmth / Vit D, immediate open coastal beach walking position, ample open facilities & produce markets are close by, much to explore locally, usually wonderful dry winter weather as zoned a Desert area, rustic charm & many rural Spanish quirks, no daily happy hour, very very reasonable long stay charges inc free 6A EHU, mainly mature / retired multiple EU nationality regulars, friendly sociable folk on site if you want / isolation if so desired etc etc.
On balance it suits us & our list, it's not perfect (hence our more modest rating) but we will return next winter (4th year).
General visitor comments often made & heard :-
Site roads & pitches are gravel & not all tarmac.
Toilets & showers are a bit rustic (but are clean).
Pace of life in winter slow & needs adjustment.
Site adjoins veg fields horticulture & partly greenhouses so teams of veg pickers visit sometimes.
Staff on site are all Spanish with just basic english.
No site fast food outlets or shops on site & Pool is closed in winter.
Getting around is difficult unless you have transport.
There are some much much smarter, bigger & busier sites in or close to big towns & Cities (we would agree - however. ).
NB A vastly different site in the blazing heat of Summer season.
Review helped ? Then why not contribute your own from your travels ?

We stayed here for 8 weeks (naturist area) mid 2019 having travelled for several weeks beforehand, the site is basic, no frills and generally quiet which suited us, although we spoke to some who found it too quiet.
Hardstanding pitches are a good size, shelter from the sun varies from pitch to pitch each being separated by low bushes with electric connection. The toilets /showers in the naturist area seem older than the textile side and a bit tired but are cleaned daily and fit for purpose.
Wine, beer, and bread can be purchased from reception the site bar is located by the pool, just outside the entrance is an excellent café/bar.
Unfortunately, the pool and grass sunbathing area, located behind reception, is on the textile side, but during our stay my wife did sunbath naked by the pool several times without issue, she was not the only person so if discreet it is tolerated.
The site is within easy walking distance of the beaches of Vera Playa and local towns are a short drive for shopping/markets etc.
All in all, we enjoyed the peace and quiet, the friendly campers, staff, and the location we will be returning.

Visited the site 2 years ago and looked a bit like a piece of waste ground. This time it looks much better and cared for. The pitches are all gravelled with no grass anywhere. Not a surprise in this part of Spain.
Some of the site is a little tight and if you have a large unit, mine 8m van towed by 5m car, you may find some of the corners and spaces very tight. Some pitches are quite small and only suitable for small caravans and very small Motorhomes. Some of the pitches at the very end a very big. I think they are probably reserved for large US style motorhomes. Several were in while we were there. The pitches and separated by low level hedges and some have trees for shade, essential for summer.
During the winter the site was about half full mainly by Brits who clearly come every year and they all seem to know everybody else. Clearly some will arrive in Oct and not leave til April.
There are two toilet blocks, both are clean however one is newer than the other and in better condition. The manager who runs the place is very friendly and helpful.
Close by is Vera Playa with its naturist beach and lots of facilities and shops. Not the place to soak up a little bit of Spain but it does have a bit of a cosmopolitan feel with many nationalities but yes it is mainly Brits.

This is a spacious site with generously-sized pitches, including some really big ones for huge motorhomes.
The pitches are gravelled and marked by neat, flowering hedges and mimosa trees, which were just coming into flower when we were there. It's a popular site for over-wintering Brits.
The reception office is open long hours, has a small shop and helpful staff. (There is also a lage supermarket nearby. ) There's a bar and a swimming pool open in high season. Wifi is good value at 10 euros for a week.
The loos and showers are good though not the best we have come across. The washing up and laundry facilities are good.
The beach is about 300m away. While this is not a particularly scenic beach, there is wonderful scenery both up and down the coast from Palomares, notably the Cabo de Gata National Park. The pretty fishing village of Villaricos is an easy walk or bike ride of 2 km and has an excellent weekly market.
Not the smartest campsite we've been to but it has a very friendly, relaxed atmosphere and is an excellent place to spend the winter.
