It is very basic but it is very quiet and its nice to wake up and look out to the vines and the smell is great. Also hearing the steam trains remind me of my mum.
We will be staying here again the staff are so friendly and dog lovers made a fuss of my dogs when I went into the gift shop.
The taxi firm are brilliant if you need to go to tesco if you don't drive and not expensive.

We stayed for 14 nights in a touring caravan. We booked here as we planned to be out and about most days and out was very cheap to stay here. We bought a £5 electric card and added to what was left on the metre it lasted is the whole 2 weeks. There were 4 of us (2 adults and 2 young adults aged 14) but we used the shower on site every day. The shower was available outside of the shop opening hours, but that was fine. It was always clean and lovely and hot.
There was drinking water and waste water very close and accessible and rubbish bins.
The driveway was fine on arrival and the next 10 days until it rained - then it was very bad.
We walked into Ryde 3 times and bought local made preserves from a House nearby using the honesty box. Also recommend the local cinema at only £3. 50 each.
There was only a couple of other people on site and a few motor homes for the odd night. Therefore we could watch films with the volume turned up and not worry about noise.
Only problem was with our awning the first night. The ground was like hard-core on the lower level and conventional pegs would not go in. 1st thing next morning we went to camping shop in Ryde and bought rock pegs, and then we were sorted.
Overall, exactly what we were looking for and lovely.

Disappointing look and feel arriving in the wind and rain but much better the next day after the grass had been mown and the sun came out. Flat gravel standing with a bit of grass between the two terraced levels.
We arrived at about 5. 30 pm and the staff was soon to leave from the reception / vineyard and the independent cafe on site. The facilities were shared by the visitors to the cafe and to the vineyard and were not very convenient to the camping area. When we found them behind the cafe they looked old, wet, littered and not at all inviting. There seemed to be one each loo for men and women and a shower. We decided to use our motorhomes facilities for the stay.
The cassette emptying hut had no water supply working. The owner said they'd turned it off for the winter and must put it back on. (It was now mid June - and a lot of the plumbing was undone, so not just a matter of turning it on. ) Drinking water was available on separate tap.
Electricity was by meter for which you could buy a £1 or £5 credit card. We bought one, used it to run the fridge overnight and took it out when we drove off for an outing next day. On our return we put it back in the meter but it would not work. We asked other campers to help but none could solve the problem. I suggested perhaps it would not work again once removed but nobody had been told that. Next day I asked at reception and was told they did not think so - but on checking with the owner found that was indeed the case!
Did a bit of wine tasting and bought some nice apple juice. Coach party and various others in cars visited winery on site. Local bike dirt track had no event while we were staying, but one practice bike was enough to make us thank our lucky stars no event was staged!
Quite a casual site which suited us and other travellers who required a CL-like venue.

Although the surroundings are very pleasant the Touring Park consists of 2 large areas of unattractive hardcore, (actually it looks like the 'scalpings' which are scraped off roads prior to resurfacing), divided by a grass area in need of a bit of mowing.
There was a rather derelict-looking caravan parked in a corner with a large grotty-looking kiddies 'Mother Hubbard' shoe, which is rather strange considering that they say 'no children under 14'.
The loos and shower are shared with tourists visiting the vineyard shop and cafe and, although reasonably clean, there was no mirror in the gents, the water heater leaked and a tiny washbasin with no plug.
The loo seat in the shower cubicle was loose and, again, no washbasin plug. We purchased 2 electricity cards. The first one worked fine, but we had get 2 more replacements which was aggravating.
The site is approached by a very long track which in places was badly potholed - not ideal when towing a caravan.

Management response: I would firstly like to thank the reviewer for bringing these points to my attention. Whilst it is no excuse we are a relatively new touring park and as such we are still learning as time goes on. On the whole I am pleased to say we have received very positive feedback from previous users on our site but I do fully welcome feedback on any areas where we might not have quite got it right. In response to the points raised I can confirm.
1. Our site is set well within the vineyard and as such it would have been very unpractical and unwelcoming to the surroundings to excavate the whole site and landscape it. We wanted to try and keep it as close to the feel of the countryside as we could, whilst at the same time balancing this out with the needs of our guests. Regarding the grass we are putting in place a plan to ensure we can keep it in better maintenance without affecting the peace and enjoyment of our guests on site at the time.
2. The old caravan and 'Mother Hubbard’ shoe has now been removed from our site.
3. Mirrors are available in the gents and we have added plugs to both sinks, the loo seat has also been securely fixed.
4. Regarding the road we are in the countryside and accessed by a very long track. Whilst it would be lovely to have a tarmac track this is something that would not be appropriate or possible for our business. We regularly throughout the year repair the road to ensure it is to an acceptable standard. Normally after periods of rain we find that potholes do appear and as such it can be a week or two before we are able to repair them.

This is a BASIC site, BUT there is a shower, toilet and a Brilliant Cafe.
The location is stunning - south facing overlooking the vines. Steam trains can be heard in the valley - WOW.
Very quiet even when the cafe and vineyard are busy.
Owners and staff are very pleasant and helpful.
You have the full roam of the vineyards after closing - great at dusk when the owls and bats are out and about.
Great cider place at bottom of the lane to site - Scumpy Joe is the BEST!
We were there for 15 nights and were the only ones there for 11 of them - it was a truly relaxing and peaceful holiday on the amazing Isle of Wight - we will definitely be back!

My wife and I stayed over xmas and new year (coldest in 30 years) as said basic site but staff very helpful (we nearly ran out of gas boxing day) If you use cl sites this is ideal for you. We wanted a site open xmas and as we have a large unit with shower we were fine. Liked card for electric this is very fair. Good walks for dogs from site, and lots of pubs on I O W, for dogs recommend Flemming Arms

We had an extended stay at Rosemary Vineyard and thoroughly enjoyed it. Basically an adult only CL but with use of a shower and toilets if required, this is a 12 pitch site for seasoned and independent caravanners and motorhomers who want an away from it all location.
Set well back from the road, it is wonderfully quiet even though it is within a tourist attraction. If you want an inexpensive base camp and you are out every day -this site is ideal. There are some very interesting walks from the Vineyard and we especially liked the walk across the fields to Tesco's.
The hardstandings are level and reasonably satisfactory and being south facing are sunny all day. The card meter electric is economical and allows you to only pay for what you use. The views over the vineyard give this site an interesting and continental atmosphere.
We enjoyed the Vineyard tour and the free wine tasting.
The staff at the Vineyard shop and cafe are very pleasant and helpful and remembered us when we returned later in the year to buy Christmas presents! We hope to be back sometime and will be recommending it to friends.

The site is approached on a 'made-up road' which is starting to get a few pot holes. The newly established site has approx 10 electric hook-ups which are metered.
We paid £5 for an electric card which lasted us for the four days of our stay, with 66p left over. We paid £12 per night, so found the site economical. The site is mainly hardcore and I do not think it is suitable for awnings but the views across the valley are quite pleasant.
There is a fairly basic toilet block adjacent to the Vineleaf cafe, with 3 ladies loos which also houses the unisex shower, which unfortunately was not connected on our visit and a gents toilet with 2 urinals.
The location of the site is good with approx a 15 min walk to a local Co-op and 25 min walk into Ryde.
