We enjoyed our weeks stay here and in hindsight wished we'd stayed longer instead of heading to Spain's Costa Blanca where the weather deteriorated. We joined the Orbitur camping club further north and stayed at 3 of their sites in total. We found a small pitch by the tennis court, the showers were adequate although not great. I used the washing machine and it was fine. Party dinner nights were arranged for around 10 Euros per head and we thoroughly enjoyed the one we went to. Loads to eat and drink with music played. The staff were all friendly at the bar, reception and in the café/restaurant.
The location was excellent for local supermarket, the town of Quarteira, with bus stops outside the camp site which go to Faro and Albufeira. Villamoura was a good walk away. Beach and lagoon 10 mins. We will return.

There were plenty of people overwintering here in December and we can see that the site's proximity to Quarteira's beaches, esplanade, shops and markets is valued. However the site looked a bit shabby and uncared for. The cafe was only open for a short time each day, althoug the lounge with wi fi reception (free) was available all day. The washrooms - hot water to sinks and washing up - were beautifully kept by a fierce team of cleaners but the washing machines were in a sorry state and the tumble drier barely warm.
The reason we only stayed two night however was the sand. Long stayers all had extensive matting outside their vans. We travel light and found that the coarse sand that makes up all the pitches was impossible to keep out of the camper, clinging to your shoes tenaciously especially when wet from rain.
For a dog walk it is ten minute walk from the site, along a quiet road, to a lovely beach that stretches miles in the direction away from Quareira. No dogs allowed on the town beaches.

This was one of the many Orbitur sites we used. At the time very hot between 31 and 40c and so the pitches with shade were a bonus. There is a site shop which is poorly stocked but in any case there is a Supermarket 5 minutes walk. Quarteira sea front is another 10 minutes walk but nice beaches and Bars.
We stayed on the site for 7 days and near the end the local holidays must have started and that was when the state of the Toilets degenerated no fault of the cleaning staff. The Bar lacked any atmosphere with Staff showing little interest in serving which also applied to Reception.
Still quite a nice site with plenty to get out and see on your Bike.

We stayed here for seventeen nights costing just under 300 euros.
We found the pools were very good, with one large main pool, a children's pool, and a water slide(into a splash pool)a life guard was on hand
The staff were very helpful
The shop was a bit more expensive than the supermarket just down the road.
The bar and cafe on site were not expensive.
The site is a short walk to the beach and town but the touring pitches are at the back of the site near to the beach so you have walk out of entrance and back down one of the roads that run behind the site, so it would benefit from a rear entrance (this is not a big problem)
The toilets were clean (no seats or loo roll)and shower were good.
A long electric lead may be required 6Amp/8Amp
Some pitches are tight to get in for large units by tennis court (due to the odd tree)
Shade on most pitches.
Medium sized children's play area.
We loved our stay here and would go again

This is a large site which is part of the Orbitur chain. As well as plenty of pitches for tourers there are numerous statics and bungalows, and will probably be very lively in high season. Even in low season it's fairly busy as it's popular with over-wintering British and German campers. The pitches are of varying sizes, on sandy soil and hedge-marked. They have curbs but not so high as to be a problem. There's a large bar and shop, but we didn't try the restaurant as it was only just opening up, as was the swimming pool. There is free wifi in and around the bar. The toilet blocks are fairly basic, though some are better than others. The washing machines and driers are good and cost 4 euros. There's a beautiful, quiet beach 5 minutes walk from the site. The main beach of Quarteira with more facilities is a little further. The rest of the Algarve coast is easily accessible by car and well worth exploring - the resorts are not particularly attractive but the beaches and rock formations are stunning.
