(From the point of view of a backpacker with a small tent)
The overall feeling I got from this campsite as I left it after a 2 night stopover was that 'it's fine', and that I feel is the best description for it. The site is nice - shaded and expansive, and is also located on the edge of one of the largest city parks you'll see. One major issue for those camping with a tent is that it's on the edge of a park, on the edge of the centre of a major city. To two sides of the park are motorways, and one of the airport flight paths often ends up being right above the site. Be prepared for not having particularly long nights, unless you're a heavy sleeper. The facilities are ok - a bit old and a bit rundown but they're ok (however there is some vandalism and graffiti which is a shame).
Staff were helpful and the reception has long opening hours, and the site shop is useful to pick up supplies (though fairly expensive). There are a large amount of leisure facilities in the centre (including a swimming pool) which were in use and seemed to be perfectly fine.
Overall it's fine for a short stay was the takehome from my visit.

24/7 reception, so no worries about when to turn up, each pitch is on a concrete slab, open planned amongst the trees, complete with water point, grey water and electric hook up. The facilities are not excellent but then we were in low season and they met our needs, however the restaurant does a very good value meal for 8 Euros, three courses including wine. The weather had been terrible for the previous few months, the ground was firm to walk on so good drainage. The site is very large we reckon on about a mile walk around the fenced perimeter, good for the post meal stroll. We had a problem at the site which the site sorted very efficiently and effectively. Handy bus service to town, 1. 70 euro per person. A good shopping center is about 1 mile way on foot, though not on pavements all the way but does give you an idea of the area. We stayed there for 5 days, explored Lisbon, and Sintra. An excellent base for touring and exploring the region.

This is a very large, busy site with lots of mature trees. The pitches consist of a concrete base surrounded by a low log wall, so it's almost impossible to put an awning up. Each pitch has its own water tap, electric connection and waste bin. The reception staff are efficient and there are computers in the reception area for internet access, as there is no wifi on the site. There is a shop and a self-service restaurant, both open in low season, and a swimming pool in high season. There are plenty of toilet blocks but they are quite basic. A bus to the city centre stops 200m away and costs 1 euro 40. The site is a good base for seeing Lisbon but not particularly comfortable for a long stay.
