Nice swimming lake and good access to the motorway for stop offs, or walking in the Teutoberger Forest.
However, the facilities are variable depending on where you are allocated a pitch. They have installed new portable toilets and showers but these are often dirty, the showers charge on your entry key at a euro a minute and some drained very slowly so the floor was always wet. They could do with more washing up facilities.
The tent fields are tiny and often overcrowded at weekends and beyond with large noisy groups. We were kept awake until 4. 30 one morning.
You are discouraged from putting your car on the pitches, but there is inadequate parking so you may have to park outside the site at busy times.
We also had issues with the cleaners driving round in golf buggies at 3. 30am and waking us up.
There are also resident cockatoos who screech all day and evening. Having said that, we tried the on site biergarten and thought the food was pretty good, but decided to visit a much quieter (and cheaper) minigolf elsewhere in Bielefeld.

Great site, reasonably priced in great area. All staff on site are great and overall a very relaxed atmosphere. Proximity card entry to site. Showers are charged extra via a token. Showers and toilet facilities good, clean and well maintained. Pick your own pitch when you turn up, pitches a good size and all appeared have electric and water with the exception of a grassy area which appeared to be for tents.
There is a mixture of touring and permanent pitches and all the people that we came across were really friendly.
In addition to restrictions through the night for noise/vehicle movement, there is a quiet time between 1300-1500 on the site where movement of vehicles in and out of the site is not allowed. This was largely observed.
Fresh produce available on site and the Biergarten is great for a few drinks and the food was more than acceptable in regards to value, quantity and quality.
Nearby you have Oma's Takeaway which was great one night for Gyros. There is a train station in Quelle which is about a 10 minute walk away and gets you into Bielefeld within 8 minutes to save you from the traffic and trying to park your car.
There are a Real Supermarket, Bakeries and Petrol stations all nearby.
I gotten bitten a few times and the ticks were attracted to our dogs, so keep an eye out for those if you visit with animals.
The site is in a fantastic region of Germany with lots of things to see and do in easy driving distance, our main reason for visit was to see family but nearby you have the Bielefeld Tierpark and Sparrenburg. Our personal favourite was Hameln which is about a 60 minutes drive away.
We were here in total for 9 nights and all in all was a great friendly stay. Highly recommended, we will definitely be returning.

Stayed here for 5 nights on route from Berlin to Zeebrugge. The guy in reception was very friendly and spoke perfect English. We had the touring caravan area to ourselves, the pitches are large & the toilets clean although there were only two w. C. 's which may be a problem when the site is full. There is a large farm shop on site for fresh bread etc. And a nice beer garden with a monkey house and kangeroos. There is a free zoo nearby which is well worth a visit.

Stayed here for 6 days and I must say the people there were friendly, most of the staff we met spoke English even if it was only a little bit as did some of the people who live there.
The plug was already adapted for our electric so didn't need our euro plug adaptor.
The campsite is clean and toilets / shower area were cleaned every day. When you book in they give you a Sep key which is for the showers they put 10 Euros on for you to start with and then add this to the bill when you leave.
They have a nice bar where you can sit inside or outside inside is lovely and warm and typical wood cabin style you can also order a pizza there which is nice and a good size.
They have now finished building the playground opposite the bar, this is made of solid looking wood and looked very popular with the children around. They have a little shop where you can buy breadrolls. Drive into Bielefeld town centre about 10 mins away where you have all the shops and the Sparrenburg castle.

This is a useful overnight stop if you have used the Hull-Rotterdam ferry and are on the way to the Hamburg area. It's a large site but is about 90% permanent caravans. There is a small, grassy area for tourers, not divided into separate pitches. There's a beer garden, and bread can be ordered for breakfast.
The toilet block is new and very smart, complete with piped music! There is a small charge for the showers, using a 'sep' key. The town of Bielefeld has a castle and some interesting old buildings but most of the centre is new as it was bombed in the war. There are walks in the nearby Teutoberg Forest, which will be interesting to classicists as the place where Varus lost the legions in the time of Augustus.
