Well 7 years of visiting this site since 2002 should give everyone some idea of the quality.
Were do you start reviewing?
This site has pretty much everything
Facilities-
Mini golf Tennis Bike hire Archery Scuba diving Canoeing Horse riding Pool complex to die for Entertainment of a very high standard
The list goes on and on and then you can also go to the sister site across the road.
There is go-karting, horse riding, bowling and treetop adventure with canyoning just down the road about 400 - 500m away.
In May the site offers free coach trips to places like Andorra and Barcelona with Argeles tours run by Fred.
In peak season friends at the site have told us it is packed but in May out of 750 enplacements around 150 to 250 are occupied.
There are some pitches for tourers and tents but unfortunately they are on a first come basis and can not be pre-booked.
All The staff are very friendly right through from the reception to the bar and the workers doing maintenance and all but a few of the workers speak excellent English.
There is a tourist road train running that stops outside the site and is free in May but small charge otherwise and this takes you into Argeles plage or vile.
The beach is about 800m to 1km away so def walkable but the better beach is at canet en russilon about 8km north the beaches at Argele although very very clean slope quickly once at the waterline and so may not be as suitable for younger children ( although the beach outside the other sister site at La raccou just past the marina is better suited to younger children but the sand is very course and gritty.
The sand at Argele is not bad but still a bit course.
Supermarkets Carfours is just up the road about 2km and at either end of the road you have a cave with excellent choices of wine. Chateau Vallmy is excellent for wine tasting ( shown on the series coach trip) but the wine is expensive compared with local prices.
You are right at the base of the pyrenees so weather although normally excellent can change rapidly.
Places to visit Coluorie about 7km south Carcassone about 80km north west vilfranche de comflete 50km west and the segian animal reserve about 70km north to name but a few of hundreds of excellent tourist attractions.
The site is really suited to those with transport.
I can not recommend this site highly enough for families and could easily go on for hours about the facilities but best just to let you check out the sites website for yourself watch the videos of the entertainment the sypox crew work very very hard to put on the excellent shows.
The site is over 700 miles from calais and tolls work out at over 70 euros but you can avoid most of them very easily.
Pay the toll to Paris then come of at Disney and head south there are excellent roads all the way down through Nevers and Mullins to Clermont Ferrand then rejoin the motorway and take in the spectacular Milau bridge for around 6 euros, but this takes you over the Massif Central and these are quite daunting for an overloaded low power car, you need a 2 litre plus vehicle for these.
Take your time driving down and have a stopover each way.
Flights are very cheap to Gerona 1hr away Carcassone 1hr away and Perpignan 30 minutes away. So let the family fly and drive down in peace and quite.
Scuba diving in the pool and the sea.
Mountainbiking in the pyrenees, and canoeing in the pool and in the sea.
Oh forgot to mention the 3 sister sites ALL have sky Tv so you won't miss a match or an F1 race.
