FAR TOO EXPENSIVE for what limited facilities there are.

Stayed only two nights as soon found another site not far away at half the price and in a much more beautiful location - where we stayed seven nights.

 This was a save.

We had planned to stay at another site but on arrival it was closed. A quick look in Acsi and a phone call these lovely people stayed open until we arrived on a Sunday evening.

We were fully satisfied with the immaculate facilities. The owner showed us everything in a non hurried way.

Part of the deal was a tourist pass which gave us free bus travel and discounts.

Interlaken is the gateway to the Swiss Alps with Jungfrau and The Eiger amongst the major attractions.

This is one of the few sites we arrived at and drove away from without booking in. All the vibes were wrong from the start and ACSI customers are definitely given sub standard pitches! When we arrived, the receptionist was very off hand with us telling us to park the motorhome round the back of the office while we chose a pitch resulting in lots of trouble turning around in a small space to get back out again. The site was very claustrophobic with some of the smallest pitches we have ever come across. ACSI customers are squashed in together, next to a busy road, some of them with electric points too far away to be reached. Better pitches cost another 5-12 euros a night on top of the hefty Swiss taxes charged at all sites. The site says “lakeside” but the lake was nowhere to be seen from the site. The site does have a bar & restaurant as well as good cycle paths and bus routes outside but we felt these did not compensate for the second class pitch allocation we were offered on ACSI rate.

Absolutely first class site, all facilities superbly clean and spotless - we visited in August 2012 and had inadvertently booked the wrong sort of pitch for our unit, but nothing was too much trouble and the hosts weren't going to be satisfied until we were happily pitched.

Toilet block 10/10 first class and spotless

Showers 10/10 first class with plentiful hot water with very high pressure and loads of it, like a waterfall

Washup 10/10, plenty of units and all very clean

Grass areas 10/10 beautiful grounds

Bar/Restaurant/Shop 10/10

Hosts & Staff 10/10 very, very helpful

Two minor negatives. (1)some low level road noise during the day (2) Tipi guests could be noisy (we had several guys on a stag weekend) - if you book, ask to be put well away from the tipi's

Surrounding area - well this is the land of high mountains, the Jungfrau, the Eiger, you really are spoilt for choice for places to visit - the area is outstandingly beautiful
