Oh dear. This used to be a fab site but it was so sad to return to. Pitches are all overgrown and neglected. The toilets are source and basic to say the very least. There are no laundry /washing facilities, The machines have been removed. The shop, the restaurant even the campers lounge were all closed through the week. The nearby town is nice but if the weather is bad there is not a lot to do except for the swimming pool which is unsupervised, cold and a hike from the touring pitches. We were in thick mud everywhere. From this possibly being the best site in Portugal its now one of the worst! I paid 18 euros but decided I would be better wild camping! I was the only unit there. Hmm I wonder why?! Sad

What a find - a little bit of campsite heaven in winter. On arrival you approach the most amazing wooden reception but you can't really see the site. The receptionist gave a long list of what was open and when - to be fair we couldn't remember half of it - maybe a written list would be better.
After booking in you follow a small road down about a mile to large pitches each with own water supply, drainage and ehu. Toilets and showers and basic but clean. Showers ran tepid at best but signs up showing they are trying to resolve. There are dish washing and washing facilities and even a cooking room. The pitches are separated from the cafe, pools etc by a walk across a bridge - 2 to 3 minutes away.
On the site is a massive outdoor swimming pool and an indoor wave pool (incl in price) there is also a super Spa for which you pay extra. The Kids area is fantastic with more play equipment that we have seen on a site. There is a high wire jungle area, lake, cycling track, gym, paddling pool, bar, lounge, etc.
Unlike a lot of sites in winter the cafe is open week days for coffee, cakes etc. We were told the supermarket was only open at weekends but it was open every day. There is also a good supermarket 5 miles away and easy to park motor homes there.
There were a fair few units on site the week we stayed and quite a few people staying in the bungalows so a nice feeling of people around but not crowded.
This site is an Eco site and I could review for hours as so much to see and do - check out their web site.
Staff are lovely and friendly and speak good English.
We were told €20 per night but asked for discount and got for €18. If you want to stay in Portugal but want something a little better than some of the bigger sites away from the Algarve you will love this would recommend to anyone for a short or long stay.
