We had a very pleasant spot by the river which didn't give me any problems getting up the hill on wet grass as I feared might be the case.
The pub, (closed mondays), was very pleasant, with good beer, & although not yet able to offer a full menu, could do basic pub food.
The facilities were basic, but perfectly adequate although they might need more when busy.
Buses run regularly to Swindon & Salisbury from outside the pub.
Altogether, a very enjoyable stop with very nice people.

We have been advised that this pub is currently closed, and is not taking bookings for camping. They are seeking new tenants and it should hopefully reopen later this year.
If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

Brilliant site
Very clean toilets, and a very friendly pub, chatting to the locals, and had an evening meal,
Excellent value for money and will go back again when in the area.
Good luck, as pubs struggle these days, but they work at it and they are very successful. Good for you

Nice little site at the back of the pub.
Great for dogs 🐕 nice walks near by. Good facilities for the money.
We didn't use the pub unfortunately it was closed the times we wanted to go.
Perfect for a few nights before we moved onto our next site.
We stopped here to visit longleat which is 40mins down the road.

What a lovely little site.
Arrived and went into pub to pay for our pitch, was told to pitch wherever I wanted.
What a breath of fresh air instead of being told where to pitch. ?
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great site with good pub attached.
It's a nice green site sloping in various directions but with plenty of level pitches too. The caravans were in a single row along one edge it the site, all with electrical hook-up.
We didn't actually need the facilities as we were used to using our on-board shower and loo, but they looked fine. The phone signal was OK so our wifi box was OK too.
We would come again but would want to be sure they weren't having a private event in the pub!

We were looking for a pub campsite between home and the in-laws to camp for a couple of nights with our new to us camper. This fitted the brief.
Reading the various reviews of the pub on various sites, it's under new management having had a difficult few years. We ate there once and had drinks both nights. Perfectly pleasant. There's a little playpark for the younger kids to enjoy. We did send them over ahead of us but we weren't clear if they were really allowed to use it if we weren't in the, fenced off, pub garden
Check in involved going into the pub, being greeted in a friendly fashion, checked off, and told to pitch where we liked. We weren't entirely clear what was campsite and what was pub garden/private land and how much of a distinction there was so a little more guidance would have been helpful but we coped.
There is a lovely flat bit by the river but there were already tents and campervans pitched there so we opted for what was the only flat bit of the field. It was a lovely big space and we had no issues with it whatsoever.
We didn't venture off-site so can't comment on local amenities.
There's a washing up hut with two sinks and a washing machine which didn't seem to ask for money. (We didn't use it. )
The ablutions are in an old, tired, dated but adequate portakabin. The ladies has one cubicle and two showers. The men's has two urinals, one cubicle, and two showers. The showers are decent sized, have shower doors as well as an outer door, and have a decent number of hooks (three in the gents). The water was fast, easily adjustable, and no complaints there.
The urinals were marked as out of order. The cubicle in the gents had its loo roll replenished a couple of times whilst we were there but the loo and the loo brush were grimy when we arrived and I saw no evidence of them being cleaned before we left.
There is recycling and food recycling and waste but the majority of these are in massive bins so separating once you're up there is a bit of an issue and, judging by the number of bins containing the wrong stuff, most couldn't be bothered.
My wife and daughter reported that there was just the one cubicle in the ladies and it stank. What appeared to be wee was on the floor and there was a loose loo seat. The fear was that the wee was going directly to the floor.
For a two night stay, we had no real complaints. Not sure I'd have wanted to stay longer without off-site activities but, had we been staying longer, we wouldn't have stayed here. It was fine. We booked online (having had to Google to find the camping page as you can't navigate the website properly on a phone) and paid in advance. Two adults and three kids with no EHU was £28 a night. A bit steep for us but, given it's done on a pppn rate, entirely reasonable.
We'd return if it was convenient but wouldn't go out of our way to do so. However, it's not a destination campsite so that's hardly surprising.

We arrived and booked in at the pub. Staff were lovely and friendly. After pitching up we went in the pub for a drink. They had no Beer Real Ales on Pump we were told be on later in the evening, went back in the evening beer still not on. We ordered food which was okay.
If you are running a pub and you know your campsite is full that weekend then ensure you order your beer in good time to allow it to settle, as we were disappointed believing real ale to be on as the Website sounded promising.
Campsite was in a nice setting with a river running through and has a few long stay campers at the end of the campsite.
Ladies toilets showers were okay, Toilet Rolls in the gents were none existence, Bus stop outside to Pewsey or Swindon.
Not a lot to do in the area but for a weekend break it was okay.
