A nice site close to the town of Montrichard, which is approx 1 km away. It is an easy and safe walk as new pavements have been put in from the site with low level lights on the bridge.
The pitches are large and flat with 10A electricity and plenty of water taps. There are mobile homes to rent on site too but plenty of touring pitches.
The staff on reception are very friendly and speak English.
There is a bar and restaurant which is only open a couple of nights at the moment in low season.
There is a good size covered pool with outside sunbathing area and a kids pool.
Sanitary facilities are excellent and kept extremely clean.
The public WiFi is very good and is free, it also, works in the town.
Montrichard is a nice old town with plenty of restaurants and shops and a castle.
There is a large public leisure area on the river Bank with a beach and a nice outside bar which also does food.
The Carrefour supermarket is next to the site, with a fuel station and some other shops. It is a good size and well stocked.
There is a little road noise but not anything to worry about.
We have been here 3 nights but will stay longer.
Acsi is taken at €19 a night.

Read the good reviews prior to arriving but were more than disappointed when we got here. Site looked closed on arrival.
Booked in and were given the freedom to choose our own pitch, this wasn’t easy as every single pitch had long untidy grass in it. It had been raining also so this made it even less desirable.
Eventually decided to pitch next to the shower block. We had arrived on the campsites first day of the season, why wasn’t the grass cut! It really irritated me.
Shower block and toilets were very clean and lots of hot water. Free public Wi-Fi that worked most of the time, I can imagine it being poor in high season.
No easy walking from site, you have to walk alongside a very busy road.
Very expensive too at €30 per night.
Wouldn’t recommend.

We found this nice site after a recommendation on UKCampsite.
We stayed over two weeks. It’s a nice site, not too big, with flat, grassy pitches (some huge), but only some with shade from large trees. Adequate provision of electricity supply (10amps) and water taps. The toilet block was good: exceptionally clean and regularly cleaned throughout the day, with toilet seats and loo paper, plus toilet seat covers, soap dispenser, hand driers and hair driers. Large washing machine and drier (5€ each). Small covered swimming pool and adjacent leisure/play area were pleasant and not noisy. Lots of attention to detail made it a nice site to stay on; flowers, picnic seats, board games to borrow, pleasant small snack bar, etc.
It was not over-busy in July.
The campsite is adjacent to a Carrefour supermarket but this had absolutely no impact at all on the campsite; just brilliant for quick shopping trips.
Good location for many of the Loire sites.
We would stay here again.
Our only complaint was their misleading Tariff:
Our son and girl-friend were joining us for a week so we chose one of the very large pitches = room enough for their small tent and car to join our caravan and car. However, when I discussed this with the lady in reception she said they would have to have a separate pitch (and pay for that pitch) as they, being 2 persons plus car and tent, were classed as a separate ‘family’ and had to have a separate pitch.
Their Tariff displayed these extra charges for:
• Supplément voiture (maxi 2/Emplacement) 2. 00 €
• Pers. Supplémentaire + 13 ans 6. 50 €
• Electricité 10 amp. 4. 50 €
Thus I’d thought we could just pay the ‘extra’ charges for 2 extra adults and extra car on our pitch (many pitches had extra small tents on them). However we had to reserve the adjacent pitch at full cost.
Plus, our son and girl-friend did not need/have electricity but were charged for it and told that on that pitch they HAD to have electricity. This was never made clear.
So we would have preferred a clearer tariff!

Stayed here for 6 nights on our way south.
Lovely site with large pitches. 15 euros a night with acsi.
Sanitaires plentiful and cleaned very regularly.
Lovely indoor pool with outside area with sunloungers.
Children's play area well away from the touring pitches.
Restaurant on site.
Montrichard about a mile away but need to walk/cycle on side of road. From Montrichard you can cycle as far as you want down the side of The Cher. We cycled down to Chenonceaux one day then to Blere another day. Went to Loches and to Amboise both have chateaux. Loved the town of Amboise.
Large supermarket right next door. Very handy for fresh milk and baguettes.

Last 2 reviews are mainly still current. Wifi extends throughout the site and is pretty good and reliable. Facilities immaculately kept and cleaning lady there till nearly 8pm.
Young lad at reception speaks excellent English if you need that. Overall an excellent site with decent bike or walking routes around. Wine area. ACSI €14 (7 for 6) and wifi €12 for the week and worth it (2015) Quiet off season with mainly Dutch and a few French. Recommended by me.

The attention to detail is still there. There is a very extensive library of English books, rows upon row of board games to borrow, free use of the internet albeit with the same bizarre rubber keyboard.
Montrichard is interesting but suicidal for cycling in the old town, but is useful for the cycle routes along the Cher.
Just down the road is Montresor which is well worth a visit and far less crowded than the nearby chateaux.
It is ACSI and incredible value for money

A well organised site with super facilities kept in immaculate order.
Owners very friendly and helpful but English not the best.
Heated outdoor swimming pool with additional paddling pool. Attention to detail included rack outside pool for shoes. Plenty of loungers and shades. Water crystal clear.
Bouncy castle and other things for kids, bike and pedal go kart hire available. Good stack of games within the main room/bar/restaurant.
Good area for cycling with lightly trafficked roads in easy reach and interesting locations all around, about 10 miles to Chenonceaux for example. Loire cycle route a short drive away.
Carrefour supermarket right next door, a short walk for fresh bread in the morning.
The attractive small town of Montrichard sur Cher is a bit of a hike along a busy-ish road, but that offers safe swimming in the Cher from a sandy beach, historic buildings and a selection of restaurants.
The site is on the route of a hot air balloon company, you see them pass overhead in the evenings and early morning.
Water pressure from the numerous taps the highest I have yet encountered so short fill times.
Any negatives? Some traffic noise from nearby, but not adjacent, roads - not a major problem. Only one grey water disposal point on the site. WIFI within bar did not work with my laptop and the PC provided has terrible rubber keyboard with, of course, the French layout of keys.
Overall excellent - we normally only stay a couple of nights but stopped 7, would definitely use it again!
