We decided to stay on this site having read previous reviews. They must have had seriously tinted rose coloured glasses on. What an absolute dump. There were about 10 apparently permanent mobile homes and the place had an atmosphere of extreme despair. It was unkempt and full of weeds but we were desperate as it was getting late so decided to stay as there was a pub next door. The pub made the evening. Run by a very friendly couple. We were invited to join in the pub quiz (we came second after a very tense tie break). This is what pubs should be like. The locals were great as were the landlady and landlord. They told us they did home prepared and cooked food but we had already eaten. Late in the evening the police arrived at the campsite and we were told by the locals that it was not an isolated incident. At £16. 00 per night this was extremely bad value. I will not stay again but will definitely revisit the pub.

Our first stay at this site and wished we could have stayed longer. Good sized hardstanding pitches with a clean toilet/ shower portakabin which the warden ( a pleasant chap called Roy) told us was temporary until the new block was built along with the elsan.
The pub is just outside the gate, with a nice beer garden & selection of ales.
There is no shop on site but Crowland is only a mile down the road.
We will be visiting again soon.

The only toilet and shower open was the disabled one. No washing up facilities for those in tents. The wc waste was a hole in the ground with a plastic cover and you had to take your cassette over to the drinking water tap if it needed washing out, not very hygienic! Grey water waste, well we were told to empty it into the dyke which ran along the back of the pitch we was on. The River Nene doesn't run through the park but the Welland is across the road from the site. If you do go and you have children be aware that the dyke runs along the edge of the site and it isn't fenced, also the wc waste points are holes in the ground. On a good point the guy on site was very helpful.

What Can I say! The caretaker (What a gem) was friendly and very helpful. We are still quite knew to this and he helped out in loads of info etc. The pub on site was very friendly and food was hot and decent sized positions. If you like fishing there was loads of placing to fish. Bird watches would also have enjoyed the variety. In March ferry hopper is opening to go into local town. Bike rides are lovely around area.
The pub was an excellent facility
Will be going back in April. Cant wait
