This is a lovely site nestled in Valley with mature trees and a lake. Wildlife abounds.
The showers are the best thought out I have come across.
Clean and the warden is super. Usual influx at weekends but the pop up Indian takeaway on Friday was lovely.
Site has good access to all areas around Chester, and Welsh borders.
We will be going again soon. Recommend

It's a nice simple site, smart, decent modernised facilities and just does the job well.
Off the beaten track, pretty quiet, though some background Motorsport noise from nearby circuit can be heard at times but we didn't find it intrusive.
Stayed while visiting family locally, and seems to be a good base for local activities.
Small kids play area and large football field provide something to keep them occupied.
Really nothing to complain about, it's a good small and straightforward site.

Great space, very clean toilets and showers, very helpful …
Large field with goals for the kids, fishing pond on site too…
Even had an aerial plug in on the fence as some plots are between hills in a dip…
Definitely go again RECOMMEND….

I have stayed at Shay's many times over the years, in both a tent and a touring Caravan. I currently store my Caravan there so I use Shay's as my bolthole.
It is an idealic setting, peaceful and very clean. You could quite literally be anywhere.
The site has all the facilities that you need, but also includes a lake that you can fish, lovely surroundings, and a stones throw from Oulton Park (for the petrol heads), and Delamere Forest (for those that like to get lost for hours amongst trees).
Shay's is well managed and definable has the family touch. Wardens are superbly helpful, as are the owners and management team.
If you're looking for a night, or longer. This place is an absolute must!

Nice campsite, in a lovely location.
OK EE signal and better O2 signal.
Footpath at the back of the site takes you straight to the Shrewsbury Arms, which does good food

Brilliant site with spacious pitches, each with own picnic table
Water points at plug in locations and TV hook up
Staff really helpful and friendly
Showers and toilets spotless, showers huge but only 3 in each of the M & F block so a bit of a wait at busy times
Will be going back as soon as we can

What a gem of a site. Tucked down a little valley surrounded by trees and fields.
The toilet block was immaculately clean and showers were lovely and hot. There’s even a couple of free well mounted hairdryers. A washing machine and dryer are also available in the dishwashing area.
Great tv reception and for those without a decent aerial you can plug in to the campsite tv points.
A lovely 5 minute walk across fields to the Shrewsbury Arms and a 40 minute walk down the country lane to The Hollies farm shop and cafe.
We’ll definitely stay again!
