We arrived just after lunch and as there had been heavy rain the day before we managed to get stuck driving on to site.
Fortunately Site owner Steve and his son Matt arrived and got us sited in good time.
Our mains cable was a little short and again Steve came to the rescue with an extension (No charge)
Steve and Caroline are to my mind excellent site owners, very friendly and willing to go the extra mile.

Excellent campsite very well kept. Clean facilities maintained to a bight standard.
Owners live on site and can’t do enough to ensure your stay in enjoyable and welcoming.
Takes caravans tents and motor homes and is open to all not just members as stated in the description.
Open flat field with hookups if required. Plenty of space for children to play.
Bus stop at main gate with regular service.

I highly recommend Lucketts camp site. We as a family, have returned for many years because we always enjoy our relaxing stay there.
The site is a small tranquil area so privacy can be upheld, the camping allowance areas are large so all campers have a generous space from each other.
The owners are extremely helpful and friendly and "go the extra mile" to make sure your stay is 100% a happy and stress free stay.
We like the fact that Lucketts is basic and is a lovely affordable get away, it is well maintained and always clean.

My wife and I have just returned from Yarmouth after a lovely weekend on the island. We stayed at Lucketts campsite which is only 2 miles from the town. The site was very very quiet which allowed for a big fat lie in! The facilities were very clean with a small toilet block with a shower which was free to use.
This site provided a chiminea for our use which was a real bonus and really unusually. No charge for this which I thought was a nice touch. We did use this and it was very welcome as the evening was a bit damp. Water points and chemical disposal point. Electric hook up available at a small cost.
Locally the area is quiet with no shops or pubs within immediate walking distance but this wasn't a problem for us as we cycle. You have about 1/2 mile on the main road and then the rest of the ride to Yarmouth was on a well lit coastal path.
All in all excellent value and great location for the ferry terminal.
Also as we arrived a little earlier than expected the owner only collected our money on departure, which was a fantastic gesture of trust and honesty.
Will be returning for sure.

I stayed here with a group of friends for 2 weeks at the beginning of August. The site is quite large for a 5 van site and is all grass with no dedicated pitches.
When pitching we made the mistake of pitching along the woods side and were getting bitten to death by midges and plagued with spiders.
Despite being on a main road we had no issues with road noise. The site is level so ok for both tents and caravans.
The on site facilities consist of an old (but very clean) mobile cabin which is split into mens and womens toilets/showers. The facilities were kept clean but the toilet and the shower were a bit narrow so not as easy for the larger person.
We also found that after our first few days more campers arrived taking the site up to 10 units at its height which put a bit of a strain on toilet/shower availability.
There is also a dishwashing area with hot water also which is also spotless.
We were attracted to the site due to on site fishing, the fishermen of the group were however disappointed with this as it was basically an overgrown pond so not the best, but there was no charge for this. They did find fishing nearby though that they liked.
Yarmouth is only 2 miles away and is handy for picking up a few bits, its also a nice little town.
You are approx 10 mins by car to Newport for the larger supermarkets if required.

Me and my family spent a week at lucketts.
The location is great for the west side of the island, but a bit of a trek over the east side if you are planning a lot of time on that side. It's on the Yarmouth to Newport road and is a quite site apart from a little road traffic which after a day you don't even notice (we didn't find it a problem at all).
The owners are very friendly and welcoming,
The electric hook ups could have been positioned better I think, two are on the end of the barn at the entrance, two on the side of the elsan unit (Not something you want to pitch near), the other eight are on two posts in the field (and not around the edge where you expect them to be).
When you arrive, you just pitch where you like and someone will see you for the money later. So if the site is busy and there are a lot of units pitched around the electric hook up posts you may require a long lead the reach your unit.
TOILET/SHOWER BLOCK: Could have been cleaned more often, as when we stayed, twice ~ it wasn't cleaned for two days resulting in nearly or did run out of paper towels or toilet paper.
When they where cleaned they where spottless.
The sky light in the mens did a leak a little when it rained.
The showers are a bit small and cramped but are ok.
Shops not too far away (about two miles)
Fishing on site not great if this a reason for your stay, just a small pond and weedy.
OVERALL:Good location, quite site (apart a little traffic noise, toilet / showers good but could be better.
Would have to think about staying again, mainly due to most of our time was spent on the other side of the island.

We have just returned from a very wet windy & not very warm whitsun week at Lucketts site. We stayed sat-sat & during the jubilee long weekend the site was busy with 3 other units! By the weds it was just us & 1 other!
The field was well cut, & sheltered with a wood at the back & hedges all around (road hedge not fenced so would need to keep an eye out if small children on the loose, also the pond was fenced).
Lovely clean facilities - 2 flush toilets, 2 basins & 1 shower in the ladies (all with beautifully hot water at no extra charge), 2 urinals, 1 toilet, 1 shower & 2 basins (albeit with a leaky roof) in the gents. There was a covered washing up area attached to the side of the portable cabin toilet block, again with lovely hot water.
The access was excellent - really easy to find being literally 5 mins on the Newport road from Yarmouth. Despite being on a main road we didn't feel that the traffic noise was excessive or intrusive at all. Could have used the chimneas but did use one of the picnic tables!
There was a handy little shop at Shalfleet (not open all day), a Sainburys & COOP at Freshwater, with bigger superstores at Newport.
To sum up we had a good time here & will definitely be back & can highly recommend it if you want a site that is quiet & where you make your own entertainment!
