Tired & a little rundown, owner very pleasant and helpful, suitable for overnight stops,
Good level hard standing, good supply of electric, a single toilet and shower which are adequate,
Although it was winter and everything looks worse when the trees are bare and the garden centre has put all the flowers away.

Great little campsite quiet and secluded with hard standing and grass pitches
The owner is a great bloke very sociable and very helpful.
Reasonable prices and unlimited electricity
There is only one shower on site but didn’t bother us but largely families may struggle
We would certainly recommend the darling buds of May if your looking for a clean well run site reasonably price
Best Regards
Mark and Sam

On arrival we were directed towards an attractive looking field to the right of the property where we came upon another couple who were stuck in the mud by the water tap. The couple were also upset that site owners very young dog had been left tethered in the field all the previous day until 8. 00 pm.
Anyway, we offered to call at the site owners house to ask for some board to put under the wheels to try and get them out of the mud - we then got a sound telling off from the owners who said we shouldn't have been there at all, we should have been the other side (out of sight to us) on the hard standing part.
A few clearly posted directions and a little more help from the site owners might have prompted us to stay the night, but with the poor little dog still tied up and ignored we moved off elsewhere.

After ditching our sat nav. And resorting to asking way by public we arrived at the site and met the Lady of the house. We were directed to a choice of pitches and after the usual introductions to 'facilities' we were left to our own devices.
A very pretty site just off the Newbury road yet we heard only 'little' noises.
We introduced ourselves to the Horse of the field and then enjoyed trips into Newbury and the surrounding district. All easily accessible' we had an inexpensive lunch in the beautiful Swan pub which is situate just off the roundabout that leads up to the retail site.
In the retail park we found a multitude of top notch shops and stores.
We will return next year as our 2011 round south east tour will take us through that delightful area.
We also enjoyed the farm shop, although small and we were quick to note that an adjacent pitch, Hyde Park, was available and is only hard standing pitches.

There are two separate CL sites here, Darling Buds any Hyde Park. We booked Hyde Park over 6 weeks in advance because it was totally hardstanding and away from the mian road, only to turn up and there was no room at the Inn.
Space was made available at the cost of £20 which has to be the dearest CL site we have stayed on. The site had a loo and shower but these were shared by contractors parked behind the nursery. Would we stay again, probably not.

Stayed here for an overnight stop on our way to Dorset. The owner was very friendly, the site was well kept and flat. There is one toilet for the use of caravanners and the garden centre but it was kept clean. No showers but was offered the use of the showers on their adjacent site.
The owner directed us to a nice pub The Swan which was Bistro style where we had a lovely meal, no rush to get off the next morning. There is a farm shop also on site. £15 inc electric well worth it. Would return if in the area again.
