 I stayed here with 3 children (16,14,9) plus dog in August. Location is idylic but remote. Pembroke is 15 mins by car. Sandra, the owner is lovely and very helpful.
Freshwater West beach is only about 15 minutes drive and whilst rather 'wild' the beach does have some rather spectacular dunes and if you want to take the children swimming the bay at Angle is only a short drive away.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and don't want to spend money on the full set of camping kit then this place is ideal.
Facilities at the site are excellent, cooking kit, gas, toilet rolls and washing up stuff is all provided. The kitchen is well equiped and has food storage boxes.
We stayed in both the Tipi and Yurt. Tipi had more character and is our preferred choice but the Yurt is more practical for small children and has more usable space. We loved this place and will undoubtedly return again.
The Tipi and Yurt have a shower room but as it rained the solar shower idea didn't really work; we used a bowl of warm water and a large mug to wash hair and ourselves. The shower cubicles give a private wash space.
Both the Tipi and Yurt have a small private fire space and BBQs are allowed. There is also a larger shared fire space with seating area.
A lovely tranquil retreat.
The Tipi is quite new and has a Rain Catcher installed to catch drips from the hole at the top. Sandra is still trying to work out the 'optimum alignment' for this. The children and dog remained dry in the Tipi but I got dripped on. Thankfully this made no difference to me because I had a good nights sleep and wasn't really bothered about a small amount of water invading my space.
Wonderful place, we loved it but it is only realy suited to those who like the quiet life.
