Stayed here for the Jubilee weekend.
Lovely site with fantastic views. Saw Hares, piglets, barn owl, kestrel.
Owners really helpful and friendly.
Regular trains a short walk away. Shower block basic and clean.
Will definitely be returning.

We stayed here for one night as part of a cycle tour around Yorkshire with our tandem, trailer and tent.
Very quiet and private location with the camping field set at the back of the farm buildings. The track through to the camping field had an agricultural feel and smell but this was not a problem to us. Lots of lovely cattle to talk to.
Facilities - basic. Good decent sized shower cubicle with steady water set in a large somewhat rustic bathroom. A few extra hooks on the wall etc would be good for hanging clothes and towels etc. Pretty clean. Cold water tap outside for washing up but no sink.
Amenities in village useful but a reasonable walk uphill from the campsite. We ate at the pub/restaurant Petro's at The Cross Keys - very nice food and friendly pub.
Excellent value.

As you wriggle between the farm buildings, dodging free range hens and ducks, the term 'Darling Buds of May' may occur to you, and this farm is certainly managed nearly as much for the wildlife as for the beef. We saw buzzards, kestrel, roe deer, barn and tawny owls and a hare. Past the farmhouse you emerge into the campsite, secluded and quiet with views across the fields. You can hear the trains, about one per hour during the day, but this does not intrude. The owners are friendly and helpful and may have enough eggs to sell you some. The toilet and shower is basic, but clean and they work.
The site is within striking distance of the coast, Spurn Point and the Wolds, a charming quiet rural area. The site lives up to its' 'Hideaway' description and we will use it again when we are back in the area.

I chose this site for the location within walking distance to a railway station as I was in possession of a free rail travel ticket valid for Saturday and Sunday. It was ideal for this purpose and I managed to visit Scarborough, Bridlington and Hull during the two days. There were lots of other interesting destinations to visit on this line if I'd had more time.
The site itself was lovely and rural with open views over the countryside and all the electric pitches placed so you could enjoy the evening sun. The grass was rather long but this didn't bother me as it was dry while I was there. I think the owner was very busy at the time with his cattle and farm, in fact it took me a while to search him out to pay my fees.
I would visit this site again, especially to use the trains, and also for a quiet relaxing weekend, which it was during the time we spent on site in between train journeys. I would also add that although it was close to the railway, I couldn't hear any trains from my tent, nor any other traffic noise.

The previous reviewer gives a very accurate description of this site and I can only echo his words. I will add though that the north and west sides of the site are protected from the wind by hedgerows.
The edge of the village and the railway station are only about a 3 or 4 minute walk from the site but Nafferton is a very long village so it takes a good 10 to 15 minutes to get to the supermarket, Post Office and the first pub. If you want to drive though, parking isn't a problem. There are very few yellow lines. If you fancy something from the chippie it's best to check their opening times as it seems to change everyday.
The site owners are a very nice friendly couple and seemed quite relaxed about things. They didn't insist I left by midday as some sites do.
For the star gazers amongst you this site is wonderful. There is very little light pollution so a great view of the night sky can be had, weather permitting. There is also an abundance of wildlife if you are quiet and stay still. Deer, hares, foxes plus the resident owl.
Ian has plans, hopefully for later this year, to have a toilet and washroom facility built and this will be beneficial to the site.
If you want peace and quiet then this is just the place to get it. It is one of those sites that I very much look forward to returning to. As it's only about 35 miles from me I have every intention of doing just that. A wonderful place to unwind.

Heapfield Farm is a great but basic certificated site on the outskirts of Nafferton. The camping area is a fenced off section of a very large field and is flat (no need for chocks etc). There are 6 EHUs in one area nearer to the farm, if you don't need EHU, you can pitch anywhere in the camping field. There are no toilets or showers but this wasn't a problem for us. There is a trough near the fresh water tap in which herbs and vegetables have been planted. Campers are encouraged to help themselves to the produce, fantastic!
There are three pubs in Nafferton, all serve food and are within easy walking distance of the site. The Star Inn also serves takeaway food at weekends. If you return from the pub at night, torches will be needed as the street lights stop just before the campsite. There is a chip shop, post office and general store (Londis-open till 9pm) in village. Driffield is a short drive away if you need further supplies.
The site is close to Nafferton train station, with trains running to Hull/Beverley/Driffield/ Bridlington/Filey/Scarborough. Nafferton is also on a regular bus route with stops in the village.
The local area is great for fishing either in the beck near the site, the river Hull or Driffield canal. There is a trout farm at Wansford and you may get lucky and catch some escapees!
There are footpaths close to site with good walks for dogs as they can be exercised off the lead.
Heapfield Farm is a very peaceful site in and it's ideally situated for the East Yorkshire coast and Yorkshire Wolds. Great price of £8 a night without EHU for 2 adults and a dog, we will return soon to this site.
