 A beautiful site only 15 mins walk from the centre of Hawkshead.
At £20 per night it's a bit pricy for no facilities but it's so peaceful we'll definitely go back. 3 hard standing pitches and the rest on lovely grass.
There's no campsite sign on the main road so you need to follow the footpath type sign to KEEN GROUND.
Owners were helpful and site is so well organised you shouldn't really need any help.

Stayed one night on my way to Scotland. For those like me who may want to use TV or Mobile internet, Forget it. But for peace and quiet in lovely surroundings, Perfect! Cost, £15 for Caravan, car and 1 adult per night

This site is perfect. Perfect location, 5 mins walk to the beautiful Hawkshead. Perfect for cycling to Ambleside and Windermere. Perfect for walking on the fells. Friendly owners, very tidy and peaceful can't wait to go back! No facilities but we are fine with that as Motorhome has everything we need.

The site is minimal in terms of facilities, but it's the location that is the main attraction and is what you are paying for. Peaceful, yet on the doorstep of Hawkshead.
We found the owners very friendly and helpful, when we spoke to them, though otherwise they leave you alone.
There are 10 pitches it seems (a wire fence makes two fields of 5), mainly on immaculately kept grass - I think the owner is quite protective (rightly), of his grass! The bottom 3 pitches are hard standing though.
There is EHU and TV booster, but note that, depending where you pitch, top or bottom of the field, you may have a little hike for water and waste.
The grey waste is central to all pitches - this means uphill for the bottom 3 and the chem waste is just outside the entrance to the site - great for the bottom 3, but an arm-burning walk down hill for the top 7 pitches.
Fresh water is also at the top end of the field.
The site is perfect for Hawkshead, with it's friendly pubs and shops, being a 5 minute walk. Hawkshead also has a smallish Co-op.
A nice site, NOT adults only, from what we saw, but nothing on site to entertain kids and not lots of space for ball games etc.
I would certainly use this site again, though the price is at the top end of what you would expect to pay for such a site.

Spent a couple of nights at this site and it was great. Facilities on site are minimal, with water supply and EHU, but no shower block or toilets, but pricing is pretty good. It's about £10 for a motorhome.
Customer service could be better. Arrived having booked, but the fellow had got mixed up. He was apologetic, but the woman in the cottage was rude and abrupt.
The location is what really makes this site. It's a five minute walk from Hawkshead, with its shops, pubs and places to eat. The town has been well preserved and well worth looking around. You can also get easy access into Grisedale forest from the site.
