I've made many friends on this amazing campsite called Rose Farm. It's located in Westhay, which is a quiet but very friendly town. There is a lot of space on the field, even in the high season. Most visitors report that they have come back for many years, because of the good atmosphere. The bird in hand, which is the local pub, can be reached through a public footpath from the camping. The pub owners are also friendly and the pub is really close.
I've camped there with a small tent for a few weeks. I like the peaceful atmosphere of the place. There is a road next to the site but there isn't any heavy traffic. I stayed up late sometimes; at night you can even see the milky way.
The area is great for biking and walking. There are two natural reserves nearby. The bikepad that goes through them is an easy way to get to Glastonbury.
The owners are very friendly and generous. There are basic facilities on site: a shower, toilets and tap water.

Great value for money campsite in an excellent location. We stayed for several nights cycling around the somerset levels and along the old railway line to Glastonbury past the Shapwick Heath & Ham nature reserves (coming back for the starling murmurations) and wider afield following the national cycle network to Lyntes Cary NT property, fabulous cycling countryside.
The site has adequate facilities and is excellent value for money, the farmer and wife who run it are very helpful and friendly, absolutely 100% recommend.

Thoroughly recommend this no frills site run by friendly and generous farmer. Stayed here after attending stone carving workshop at the nearby craft centre - also recommended.
Fabulous cycling through the Avalon marshes - saw great white egrets (very rare) and a barn owl out hunting.
Visited Glastonbury and Wells by bike - lively and colourful.
Don't expect luxurious facilities here but clean and quirky with numerous ancient artefacts, such as cheese presses, dotted around the farmyard. A real glimpse of a typical Somerset farm set in beautiful wetland scenery.
Loads of space - only one other van in a large camping field. Excellent value for money.
