Nice little site located midway between Cartmel and Grange-over-Sands, both of which are beautiful places. It takes about 20/25 minutes to walk to either place but there are hills (hey, it's Cumbria! Of course there are hills!) and make sure to bring a torch as the nearby lanes don't have lighting. We were in Grange for a birthday event but didn't mind the walk back after a few beers!
The site itself has grass pitches, many of them with EHU points, and although I'd booked in advance we were told we could pitch at any available place but there were only 2 EHU options left, one of which we'd have had to park in front of another van because of how they'd parked up oddly in the corner.
It was fine, we chose the other spot and had a lovely view over the tops of the static caravans that are on the lower level, but if the site had dedicated pitch numbers which had been reserved for a pre-booking then it would've been a little easier.
A few others arrived later than us and they wouldn't have had any EHU access where they parked (they still stayed so maybe they didn't require EHU anyway).
The facilities are clean, basic but adequate. Showers are push-button types but they literally last 3 seconds per press of the button! They could do with being timed at 20-30 seconds really as you can barely grab your bottle of shower gel before the water's gone off, then the temperature fluctuates on each press. Again, minor gripe, it was hot at the weekend so I didn't want a constant hot shower anyway.
We'd definitely return again if in the area or visiting our friends who live nearby. Good access to parts of the South Lakes that don't get the same numbers as the central Lakes area.

A nice quiet site.
All grass pitches with EHU. Decent newish looking toilet block though there seemed to be a lack of power in the Gents.
Pitches would probably require ramps.
Reasonably priced at £20 / night inc EHU.
Good for access to the fells and only about 1. 5 mile from Cartmel and a bit nearer to Grange, though both down a big steep hill.
There is a hotel near which does meals for non residents though we didn't try it.

This is a good, simple no frills site, with lovely views over countryside to Morecambe bay.
Grass pitches with good views from them all. The facilities are basic but freshly decorated and spotlessly clean at all times.
We were charged £20 a night all in, no extras for awnings, electricity or dogs, which is getting to be quite rare now.
The road up from Grange is steep with lots of parked cars but no problem.
Lots of places to visit close by, and plenty of shops in Grange over Sands,
We recommend the chip shop!

Site is in a great spot with lovely views, working farm so can be quite vocal in the morning, but coming from the city I welcomed this over a siren.
Rang Jennie the owner on arrival and we were met by I think Derek, lovely friendly chap and charged us 15 quid with EUH. We had just bought the camper van and had no way to level up and he gave us some timber to help.
Great hot shower and it was hot. Simple but clean facilities. The local pub “uplands” serve great beer and food. Easy walk to Grange or Cartmel.
We are going back in a few weeks, really like the place.

Spent 2 nights here in a tent with electric hookup.
We did not book but knocked on the farmhouse door upon arrival. All very relaxed; we were told to take any pitch we liked and it was OK to pay later. We were warned that some of the pitches were rather wet after the recent poor weather. Dog friendly. Price - £15 a night; a bargain for an electric hook up.
Not the most level pitches but good enough. It rained heavily on our second night and the pitch did turn into a bit of a muddy wallow as we were packing up - we were warned, to be fair. Noise from the road was at times intrusive; far busier than I expected.
Facilities basic but adequate. Hand driers did not work.
Lovely elevated location, spoilt by the road noise. There are good dog friendly pubs in Cartmel, but the walk down the narrow road is hair raising due to reckless drivers charging around blind corners. There is an interesting 'Hospice' (stone built refuge and viewpoint) on top of Hampsfell a short walk to the north, as well as some limestone pavement.
Humphrey Head is a short drive to the south; this windswept limestone outcrop juts out into the sands of Morecambe Bay and is well worth a look. Don't be tempted to go on the sands though; there is quicksand!
I don't think that I would stay at this site again; I don't mind the basic facilities but I do not like the road noise.

The site is roughly equi-distant between Grange and Cartmel so it is great for visiting the two places. We liked it for its simplicity- basic but adequate facilities - we are not precious !
Friendly chap who visited to say hi and collect site fee. Lovely high position above Cartmel with nice sunrises/sets. Probably best as adult site only.
Note site is at junction of Grange Fell and Naggs Lane, turning L then sharp R into Wart Barrow lane. With a 'van would suggest the approach should only be along Grange Fell Lane ( as Cartmel Rd is quite narrow. For some reason their website has the site on Cartmel Rd ??
Walkable into Cartmel so good for race days. If you want a no frills site with couple of loos and a shower (male and female) at a very reasonable rate(£15 November) then this will do you fine. We liked it.

We found this site by accident. Just outside Cartmel and very close to a pub. The site has beautiful views. We parked on the terrace at the top which is fairly level. There are some statics there which are not noticeable with the layout of the site. Loads of rabbits running around. The owner was friendly and helpful. The toilet block was in a handy position and has three toilets and a large shower in the ladies and the gents. The shower was hot and quite powerful for a campsite. And it didn't cost extra as some do!
We will certainly be visiting again.

Initially to be local for the races at Cartmel last week, ended up staying for 5 days. Really friendly owner wonderful views you wouldn't know there were a dozen or so static vans just in front of you as the site terraced.
Toilet facilities look as if they've just been installed and not quite finished off, but saying that they are quite adequate 3 loos 1 large shower in both gents and ladies.
Nice pub restaurant within 250 yards, and Cartmel itself about 1 mile down the hill.
Will definitely be going again, the owner says he doesn't need to advertise and gets very busy at weekends and bank holidays so probably better to book.
There seemed to be an equal mix of tents caravans & motor homes, about 16 electric points, ground a bit sloping and needed levellers.
