 We chose this site due to be fairly close to the ferry and the beach.
The site is not directly by the beach, but about 20 minute walk. The walk to the beach is easy, but not pretty - taking you through an alleyway and across the road to the dunes at Westende. Once you get there though it is a fantastic sandy beach. Shame the weather wasn't better when we were there though! The tram runs directly past the site and along the whole length of the coast so always an option instead of walking to the beach. We explored Nieuport and Middlekerk nearby. Neiuport is particularly nice and worth a visit, both the town and the beach.
The site is well run and we received a very friendly welcome in excellent English. Although there are a fair few semi-permanent looking caravans and big awnings, they doing look like permanent residences so the site still felt like a holiday destination rather than peoples homes. There was a small shop, takeaway and restaurant although we didn't use these they looked good.
We were given a grassy pitch, which was flat, well drained and most importantly didn't bend the pegs when putting them in! The loo block close by was always clean, though like many continental sites it didn't provide toilet roll, soap or hand driers.
