Immaculate site (toilets cleaned constantly) for visiting the Rudesheim area and all it has to offer like the Drosselgasse (the most oldyworldy German street you could ever wish to see), the niederwald monument (I can recommend the 15 euro round trip which is the cable car up, then a short 3km walk through the woods to the cable car back down to assmannshausen then the boat on the rhine back to Rudesheim.
Go early so you can hop off the boat in Bingen for a bit), and other places such as Mainz by train or a trip on the Rhine.
In Rudesheim there is a delightful wine stand in the small town square, very civilised glass of Dry Reisling. We stayed 4 nights but could easily have filled a full week.
As a previous reviewer mentioned the pitches were not crammed in high season after all unlike the nearby Campingplatz site that you pass on the walk into town, plus electric hookup is very cheap.
We used it for our small fridge and it was 3 euros for 4 nights! Also by the site is a lovely mock beach bar and an Italian restaurant CHECK THE LOCAL STORM WARNINGS. At 2. 30am a thunderstorm ripped down the Rhine valley at 60mph. I would have destroyed fiamma awnings, tent awnings and even campervan elevated roofs had we not been aware and battened down the hatches. Some areas of Germany got 100mph winds!

Site is located on the banks of the Rhine midway between Rudesheim and Geisenheim. Many pitches have a river view, although there is a road in front of those on the left side of the site which is used by locals for parking when visiting the attached pizza restaurant or for access to the Rhine cycle path.
The Rhine is a busy river so there is always plenty of river traffic to watch, both commercial and cruise boats. The road is not a through road though so there is no passing traffic noise. Pitches are quite narrow but nevertheless a good size, certainly bigger than those on many other sites bordering the Rhine. The pitches are not marked out though, and we suspect that in high season caravans will be sited closer together.
Facilities blocks are warm and clean. Showers are push button but temperature can be controlled. We found shower cubicles to be a good size but would benefit from a seat or stool and a couple of extra hooks. There are no privacy cubicles. Toilet paper, soap and paper towels all provided.
Price using ACSI card was €18 but electricity is metered so our final bill worked out at over €20 per night and we consider ourselves to be light users as we have no TV and heating was not used. Credit cards not accepted.
Bread is available to order on site. There are several supermarkets nearby, less than 10 minutes by bike and Rudesheim itself is about 15 minutes away along the cycle path. There is no site Wifi but excellent free wifi can be obtained for the price of a coffee at the nearby McDonalds.
There is plenty to do in the area, staff in Rudesheim Tourist Information are particularly helpful. Easy cycling is available on both sides of the Rhine and there are excellent train services stopping at all towns along the Rhine, which you can take your bike on too. Walking paths are well signposted and a trip on the cable car to the Niederwald monument followed by a chairlift to Assmanhausen and then a boat trip to Castle Rheinstein makes for an excellent day out. There are numerous boats offering Rhine cruises and the Rhine in Flames events are highly recommended if you are there when events are scheduled.

Enjoyed our stay on this site. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good sized pitch overlooking the Rhein, a very busy working river with lots of industrial/commercial traffic, as well as river cruise ships. So interesting to watch!
Shower and toilet blocks very good. Plenty of cycling paths nearby with easy access to both Geisenheim and Rudesheim. Restaurant on site - looked busy every evening but we used local restaurants close by. Would recommend Kapellengarten in Geisenheim - a lovely outside restaurant in a relaxing garden amidst some vines - good food and good wine and not too expensive.
Tourist information office in Rudesheim very useful with friendly and informative staff. Cable car and chair lift tours available from Rudesheim and lots to see and do round and about.
As a retired couple, cannot comment upon facilities for children, but plenty of space for them to enjoy both on the campsite and close by on way into Geisenheim. Horse-drawn carriage rides and the winegrowers' express railway would also appeal.

Visited this site for Rhine in flames, scruffy site with many statics, continues noise until early hrs with no respect for other people, televisions in awnings and outside, owner packs you in like sardines seems to completely turn a blind eye to roudines, children and teens constantly uses toilets and wash rooms as play area, would not use this site again.

We stayed here for seven nights. With our ACSI Card it cost 14 Euros a night. English is spoken by one of the young ladies in reception.
The site location is superb being adjacent to the river Rhine and within walking distance of the picturesque small town of Rudesheim. There is a level pedestrian / cycle path alongside the river in both directions.
There are two supermarkets and a drinks Supermarket between the c/site and Rudesheim. A tip here. If you buy beer in plastic bottles you pay a deposit on the bottles - almost as much as the beer. OK if you're there long enough to return the empties.
The touring pitches are on the part of the site nearest the river and are of well maintained grass - slightly sloping. The toilets / showers are well maintained and cleaned with loads of hot water. This is also the case with the dishwashing area. The site has a Restaurant, we didn't use it so I can't comment on quality prices did seem to be average though.
There are many small picturesque villages in the area to visit. This part of the Rhine is surrounded by vineyards and there are ample opportunities to sample the excellent local wines
We approached Geisenheim from the direction of Koblenz using the A61 on the other side of the river crossing on the ferry from Bingen to Rudesheim. The ferry takes HGVs so a touring caravan presents no problems.
A couple of years ago we stayed on a site near to Boppard and in my review I commented on noise from the railways that run both sides of and parallel to the river. This is not the case at Geisenheim. There is no noise from the trains.
