We have been visiting this site for the last 10 years, both passing through on the way to somewhere else (close to the motorway for an overnight stop) and also for holiday.

It's one of our favourite sites; good location for walking and cycling, handy for the shops, friendly owners and clean amenities.

What more could you want.

Stopped at this lovely site again for an overnight

Facilities are good pitches are good size and it is only 5 mins of the A4.

The sanitary block is ok and showers etc good. There is a Bistro on site that is very popular and has very reasonable prices.

There are loads of attractions within driving distance so we hope to return again but for a much longer visit

We stayed at this site on our way back from Germany just as an overnight stop.

The last Km to the site is single track and unfortunately for us was covered in slurry from farming activities.

The site itself seems to be part of a former quarry, has pitching areas on different levels - one of which was closed, being very boggy.

Finding a level pitch was difficult due to the undulating ground.

The site feels quite run down due to the presence of shabby wooden chalets built over some touring caravans, now used as statics.

The toilet facilities were very typically French, but clean.

We were welcomed by the Dutch manager who was very friendly and spoke excellent English. The office/reception and restaurant are best described as rustic.

The site was very quiet with no road noise. Charges were also very reasonable.

Visited this camp site on the way back from Switzerland, following the reviews below. Very easy to find and near the motorway but not noisy and the welcome has not changed. Still very warm and smiley. Spoke excellent English, German, French & Dutch

The shower blocks were clean and tidy. There was a good choice of breads, croissants etc to order for breakfast.

Being late in the season the weather had been rather wet and the motorhome in front of us was in a bit of a dippy pitch and got stuck, despite the effort of the rest of us campers we couldn't get him out without spoiling the pitch. This was no problem they guy who owned the camp site fetched his tractor, grovelled around in the mud and rain to attach the tow rope and pulled the van off. All the time smiling away and genuinely happy to help

Would definitely go back

To find site:- From Phalsbourg take N61/D661 towards Sarreguemines. In about 2kms watch out for camping sign to right (don’t turn at Vilsberg sign) Final approach to site along narrow road past quarries.

This is a somewhat rustic campsite a couple of kilometres outside of Phalsbourg. Pitches are quite generous in size and despite the terraced nature of the site are in the main level. However the approach to the pitching areas is up a steep gravelled approach road which is a bit rutted, the same applies to the exit road.

We arrived after a period of heavy rain and the pitches are not free draining which could cause issues with traction for getting on and off pitches. Electric points are a mix of CEE17 blue connectors and the more old fashioned two pin connectors. Ampage also varies between 6 and 10 amps.

Having said that on what was supposed to be a 6 amp connection we were able to run the heating at over the nominal ampage. The toilet block is somewhat dated with seatless toilets and no paper provided. Water taps are dotted around the site. Free WiFi is available in the general area of reception but if you have a booster aerial you may well get it further into the site.

Behind the reception area is a rather nice bar/ restaurant. Our visit to this site was in many ways spoilt by the weather and on a better day it would have seemed much better. Its a shame really as the owners are delightful and very helpful and despite the weather, cheerful!

With the benefit of independent transport there are many interesting places to visit in the area and reception will be glad to provide you with details. For shopping there is an Intermarche and Aldi a mile or so from the site on the outskirts of Phalsbourg.

What an excellent site. We came across this site by accident as we needed an overnight stay during a biker holiday through Europe.

Upon arrival we were met with smiles and a warm welcome, the hosts were amazingly friendly.

On site the pitches are huge so no problems if you had a large tent or caravan. Showers, toilets and even a laundry room are excellent and clean.

There is a bar which serves large beers which makes a change. Food is available it's basic but suited our requirements. You can order your bread, croissants or pan du chocolat at reception and it is delivered fresh the next morning.

Free wifi which is really useful, you need a login code to use but only lasts an hour but we were quite welcome to use another free code.

I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. All this for only 10 Euros excellent.

We spent a week at this lovely peaceful relaxing campsite with our dog. The weather was wonderful. The pitches are extremely large - ours was over 200 m2. It is very well maintained by the owners. The Sanitary Block is very clean. There is WiFi, a bar and a restaurant and they even have ice creams for sale. They also did take away chips - the lovely little allumette frites.

But the main thing is the owners - simply said thay are lovely people with a genuine interest in their guests. They always have time for you - even if they are busy at the bar. They are willing to advise where to get fuel, what to see in the region etc.

In the local town of Phalsbourg there is a nice restaurant called 'La Marmite' in Rue de la Gare. There are 2 supermarkets - Intermarche and Maxi. There is also Lidl and Aldi.

A great visit is to the Ship Lift near St Louis-Arzviller - a super experience - there are leaflets at Reception. Strasbourg is also not far away. If you like to relax and have the chance to talk with some French people in the near-by chalets you will love this campsite
