An easy drive from Santander about 49 mins.

2 main areas, seasonal and touring which are kept sepy

3 sanitaires which were old style but clean and good hot showers.

Restaurant on site and small shop. 6 amp electric and WiFi 1 Euro a night.

Mainly Spanish with a few brits and Dutch overnighting.

Difficult for large units to pitch as slope from road is at an angle that you can’t reverse on without catching back end and steadies, ok for other smaller units and fine for motorhomes.

Friendly staff. 18 euros with acsi
via mobile

First, the good points. The site is in an excellent situation for visiting the very pretty villages and excellent beaches of the Cantabria coast such as San Vicenti, Comillas and Santillana del Mar. It is only about 45 minutes from Santander and if coming from the west, also easily found from the A8 jct 249.

Second, the not so good. The site is very big but the majority of units are seasonal or permanent. This area can be busy and noisy, though the noise doesn't intrude on the separate touring area pitches too much. The touring pitches are quite big and mostly fairly level but the access roads are quite uneven in places. Unfortunately the site is let down by the very dated and shabby sanitaires. Even though cleaners attend to them fairly frequently they are far from being spotless and the fittings such as basin worktops and shower cubicles are often grubby or in poor state of repair. This was disappointing as we had visited a dozen other sites in France and Spain on this trip all of which had good or excellent facilities.

Wifi reception all over the site was very good, and not too expensive at one Euro a day.

Used this site for two nights after arriving on the Santander ferry. Few were given a friendly welcome and were able to choose our own pitch. Touring area was quiet at the beginning of June. There are kerbs which can make access a little difficult. Pitches were dry grass when we were there. Facilities are clean and plenty of hot water.

We had a very good meal in the restaurant for 10 euros but were the only ones in at the time.

Had a nice bike ride to the coast where there are lovely views. It is hilly in parts though so some pushing required!

A very friendly busy site. We arrived at the end of the month and there were many seasonal pitches being used - very close together but then I think everyone knew each other!

The touring part was much quieter and reasonably spacious, it may be a bit crowded at peak times.

The toilets and showers are kept very clean at all times - everything sprayed with bleach!

Plenty of trees for shade and you chose your own pitch.

The bar and restaurant are a bit basic but very friendly with different free tapas each night. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced.

A site in a good spot for touring Comillas, Santillana, St Vicente and only about 40 mins from Santander ferry.

This site is 45 km west of Santander, in a very scenic area with excellent beaches. The site is quite large, with some wooded areas and rocky outcrops, but the touring pitches are level, grassy and well-kept, with enough trees for shade, numbered but not divided by hedges. However, access to some pitches can be difficult due to deep concrete gutters. Statics outnumber tourers but are in a separate area, and in addition there are some cabins for rent

Reception staff are friendly and speak English, and there is a small book exchange. There is a busy bar and restaurant, a supermarket and a nice swimming pool, where the wearing of bathing caps is compulsory.

The toilet blocks are very good with controllable showers, plenty of hot water, loos with seats and paper, and all kept very clean. The same goes for the washing-up and laundry areas.

On the down side, it can get quite busy and noisy at weekends when lots of Spanish families arrive, but during the week (in low season anyway) it's peaceful and relaxing. I imagine it will be very busy in high season. Occasionally the cabins are used by groups of young people who can also be noisy.

But on the whole it's a very pleasant place to stay, with plenty to see and do nearby, including interesting small towns like Comillas, San Vicente and Santillana and the famous Altamira caves.
