Site has reasonable facilities. Pitch sizes are Ok, but sometimes access to pitches is awkward. Pitches very sandy. However, on two different over-night stops, the site was let down by a lot of noise very late at night. Firstly, what appeared to be organised music from the bar area, until 2. 30 a. M. (not what you need if you have a full days driving ahead). The second visit was soured by noise from 'feral' kids until well after mid night! The site has lots of security, but they did nothing in terms of preventing the noise. We knew in advance there was going to be noise from the nearby TGV train line, but that was nothing compared to music & kids.

We stayed here for 4 nights on our way further south. The site was easy to find and not far off the motorway. The reception staff were helpful. Pitches were quite large but as usual with French municipals the hedges had been cut at the start of the season and were getting overgrown. Most piches offered some shade. The showers were pre set push button but adequate. Free Wi Fi was available on the terrace. There was good dog walking round the lake.

Our main 'gripe' was that the site was listed as quiet day and night in the ACSI book - but the high speed TGV line ran across an embankment about half a mile away so there was quite a bit of rail noise from about 6. A. M. Until midnight. - So not as quiet as we expected.

We stayed 3 nights as an extended stopover en route to the South of France. We chose it mainly because it had late availability in peak season and on balance it was a good choice.

The kids - aged 13, 10 and 10 - really enjoyed it to the extent they stayed on the site for both full days we were there. There is a lake for swimming (the swimming area is separate from the main lake) with an artificial beach which they preferred to a pool - it's well done and they have a lifeguard too. There is also a good play park type thing with some pretty big slides so not just for toddlers, table tennis tables, volleyball and a big open area where campers played football. In fact a feature of this site is the amount of space - it isn't packed in at all and the pitches are generous too.

The only downside of the site I found was that the lake meant there were quite a few mosquitos - I've experienced worse but if you react to them like I do make sure you take repellent.

We chose the area more for the fact it was on the way to our eventual destination but it was actually very nice. There are some woods with walks or cycle tracks down to the river Saone. I had a bike with me and did a 4 hour ride up into the hills - lovely quiet roads amongst vineyards and whilst it's not really my thing there were a lot of places to stop and taste the wine of local producers.

Overall then a really nice traditional site. Maybe not one with all the bells and whistles but not overly expensive and does all the basics - good pitch size, clean facilities etc etc - very well.
