Returned from this site at the end of the summer holidays and couldn't wait to go back! About the only downside was the weather but that seems to be par for the course in my camping experience and obviously can't be blamed on the site!
Before booking I explained to the lady who ran the site, that I was apprehensive about camping alone with my son as I usually camped with friends. However her manner, honesty and flexibility were very reassuring and helped me decide on this site.
She also advised they had an offer on whereby we could have an extra night free which was great. When we got there she made every effort to ensure we were ok on both the first and subsequent days. Her son was also very helpful, bringing us stones when we needed them.
Lovely large flat field with lots of space and we could choose our own pitches. Other campers on the whole seemed friendly and said on leaving they'd had a great time. Toilet and shower facilities are probably the best I've ever seen at a campsite, as was the large dish-washing area.
Showers were hot and cheap, toilets were cleaned regularly and the homemade food goodies in the adjoining room were a nice touch and reasonably priced. My only regret is we didn't open the fudge until we got home so didn't realise how delicious it was or we would have bought more!
The village Spar was only a short walk away (7-10 mins) and the nearby pub was friendly and served lovely food.
Excellent base from which to explore Cornwall and Lyn was very knowledgable about where to go. It is a lovely quiet site for families and though there was no play area for children this wasn't a problem for us. Lyn was very patient with my son and his never-ending questions (and mine!).
It wasn't swarming with tourists and was ideal for us to spend quality time together as a family. All in all we had a lovely time and hope to go again next year.

I went to this campsite as a family unit, in which two people had never been camping before, they found it relaxing and a very positive experience. I'm so glad they had a good time even though it rained one day and they are excited about future camping trips.
There were 3 female and male toilets, there was also a disabled toilet and a baby changing. There was two very hot showers which were 20p for five mins (we were very suprised it was that cheap. There was a little room in which you could buy gifts such as homemade jams and teddies.
It was all very clean, the only thing I could ever really critise was that there was only two plug sockets that we could find which were in the gift shop room, so the 'new campers' struggled to adjust without there hairdryers and straightners
Down the road (10/15 min walk) was a village shop and a spar which opens till 10 as well as a pub which the boys told me was great as there was a beer festival on.
The lady in charge was very sweet and very nice, she let us have our own fire pit and brought some wood over to us in her car, which for a crate was £5, she gave us plenty of information about the walks in the area, the shops and the animals near the site.

Was a lovely place to rest our heads, with shops and food no more than a 2 minute walk away. The land has great potential for family fun!
Overall, a lovely place to stay with fantastically generous owners.

We recently stayer here as a group of 4 people and despite the weather not being great we really enjoyed our stay here. For most of the week we were the only people staying at the site which was great.
The lady who owns the site is really helpful, came to check that we were ok every now and again and was more that happy to take our ice blocks for re-freezing.
The facilities are really clean and the water hot, one nice thing is that the showers have adjustable temperatures but a downside is that they are controlled by putting 20p's into a machine so take lots with you!
The site is in an excellent location, 2 minutes from the A38 and within easy reach of nearly everywhere in Cornwall. There is a large Morrisons in Liskeard which is only a 7-8min drive away.
Also at the site there is a woodland walk that is lovely, you can see much wildlife around this walk as well as the owners pigs, chickens and ducks!
All in all I will be returning soon and would recommend this site to anyone.

We turned up at this site on the off chance and were not disappointed. This site only opened in July 2010 and no one seems to know about it yet. We were the only ones there! Others had, apparently, booked to stay there, but the weather was so awful, they obviously decided to give it a miss.
We had great fun trying to get a real campfire going, in the rain (were successful on one of the two nights we stayed), at one of the two areas where real fires are allowed.
The facilities are excellent. Really hot water for dishwashing (2 sinks)and clean and pleasant toilets. Nice, modern hot showers, which take 20p pieces (1 for five minutes). The lady owner was really friendly and came to check on us the second morning we were there, as she was worried we might have got washed away in the terrible rain we had had to endure! Nice flat field (slight slopes in places) with drinking water and recycle and rubbish bins.
Our two children enjoyed the site and we would definitely return. (The site is just for families and couples). No swings or playground, but that doesn't bother us. There is the opportunity to use the Sports Academy next to the site, but we didn't take advantage of this (see their website for details).
The village shop is just down the road and is open late (Spar). There is a cash machine inside, but it'll charge you to make a withdrawal (but the shop does do cash back on debit cards). We were visited by a local cat who seemed to want company (but probably lives locally and just does its 'I'm cute' act for any camper around). Go and discover this site for yourself before everyone else does!

I have just spent a week camping on site with my wife and 3 energetic young sons with another family. The site itself is expansive and very peaceful and subject to clear skies, boasts some of most awesome night star gazing free of ambient light. We were treated to an awesome meteor shower mid week and the best view of the milky way I think I have ever seen.
The facilities are spotless and lots of warm water - useful for dirty children that have been on the beach all day.
However the thing that really strikes you about the site is the great central location for all that Cornwall has to offer and some great pubs for an evening wind down just 5 minutes away. In 5 days we managed a quick hop to the Eden Project, surfing at Porthcothan, rockpooling at Talland Bay with a walk on the headland to Polperro, a great picnic by the river on the camel trail and a day out in Rock - the furthest was 40 mins in the car. You get all the benefits of North Cornwall but the south coast as well. Its also cheaper (get's the Parent vote) and less busy - you can actually get an evening table reservation.
Top tip - get some great local grub in St Cleer at 'Taste of the West Country' Farm Shop - add some of the freshest fish available in the UK from Pengelleys in Looe - stoke up the fire pit in the evening - sit back taste, smell and enjoy the wonders of Cornwall whilst gazing into the best night sky on offer.MAGICAL TIMES!
