Don’t know what happened to us! Booked for two nights but left after one!

Arrived and phoned owner as told on sign at entrance and told to pitch wherever we wanted. Great - initially thought what a lovely site, loads of room so chose and settled down on a hard standing pitch.

Still no contact from the owner - where the toilets, showers, waste etc. Were then thought we’d better look for ourselves, toilets were horrid, don’t think they’d been cleaned for a long time by the state of them and certainly wouldn’t use them, only found one shower and wouldn’t really like to use that. And it cost £1.

Such a shame as we had a lovely walk through the RSPB woodland through to the town which had lots of shops, pubs, cafes and takeaways as well as a railway station.

Cost £15 per night in October which if you were looking to use your own facilities is sort of ok but we purposely chose sites that offer toilets and showers which this did but not usable!

I really enjoyed my two night stay on the campsite.

I found it to be very clean and tidy nicely presented.

The owner was friendly and provided me with a key to the shower block and showed me where all the facilities were.

Its close to town within easy walking distance to the railway, shops and library. And a nice bakery shop.

It is not too far to go to nearby Potton which is a nice little market village and next to the RNBI wildlife park.

I didn't see any children's facilities so if you have a young family they might get bored.

We spent 1 night at this site, and that was all it took to say that we were impressed. It has a very wide entrance, a bonus compared to some sites.

The 2 fields were well kept, the pitches weren't numbered so you could pitch wherever. There are 2 showers, 1 was permanently locked while we were there, not sure why.

There are 4 toilets and two large sinks in the building which houses them, the sinks are large enough to use to wash hair in.

The owner was very helpful and friendly, he said that there was no rush for us to leave the next day, we could stay all day if we wanted.

The town is just down the road, literally, it has a wide range of shops, including a chippy, hairdressers, Chinese, hardware, petshop, etc.

As previously stated in another review, there is a little traffic noise from the nearby road and train track, but it didn't keep us awake at night.

At £12 a night this site will definitely go on our 'return list'.

The single toilet is clean, likewise the shower,

The site is large flat and open which meant that the wind blew across the site without anything to break it up. A few shrubs and trees would have helped.

The electric hookups are dotted about and a long lead will be needed in case you are not close to one.

Sadly despite being in a nice area and surroundings the only one word to describe this site is 'Noisey'. Its sandwiched between the A1(M) and a noisy B road that runs along the front. This road is a rat run between The A1(M) at Sandy and the surrounding towns so it never really quietened down even during the night.

I would recommend only as a stop over whilst travelling up or down the country.

We stay here as my husband takes part in an archery contest every year that is held in the woods across the road.It is very easy to find, being a short way off the A1,so could be a good overnight stop for some.

Despite the busy trainline close to the site we have always found it very relaxing.

There is only 1 shower and 1 loo but we have never had to wait. They are always clean and plenty of hot water.

Robert and Linda, who own the site, are very helpful and usually stroll round in the evening to check everyone is OK.

The town is a 15 min walk and has butcher, baker and a Budgens supermarket. Also some very good restaurants and takeaways.

Dogs are welcome and there are some good walks as well as the one round the field.

The RSPB bird sanctuary is just up the road from the site.

No children's playground but plenty of space for games.
