We booked a night here to coincide with our arrival on the ferry at St. Margarets Hope late evening. Its an easy 10 minute drive from port to site.
Friendly and helpful check-in and shown to our pitch. All five pitches on hardstanding with grass each side, we did think pitches 1-3 were slightly smaller with not so much room between them. Pitches 4 and 5 much bigger.
The site is kept really well, grass well mown, some lovely planting and thoughtful benches around. There are bins and fresh and grey water points.
As previous reviews mention the toilet is around the other side of the house, no problem with that and we found it to be very clean with soap, paper towles etc. The toilet is also the chemical disposal point - never keen on that.
The site is well situated for touring around the Southern parts of Mainland Orkney and its approx 20 miles up to Kirkwall for major supermarkets and petrol.
You need to use own transport from site as nothing really to see within walking distance.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of our Scottish tour, we were the only people staying at the time as it's quite late in the season.
The site has lovely views over the bay and is very quiet, the toilet is more like a small shack with cold water no hand towel and is next to the owners house, it would be much better if the owner created a path way by the side of his house rather than walk out of site and around his property.
It's amazing to see the differences between cl sites some are much better than others and to be honest I don't know how often the caravan club actually check on what sites say they offer and what actually awaits you when you get there.
Would I agree and say that this site is a gem it all depends on we're you've been and stayed, we ourselves have stayed on better and have stayed on worse, would like to say that we met with the owners before they left on a trip and were pleasant and helpful, and the island of orkney was a pleasure to visit.

What a little gem! We had pre-booked for two nights prior to our departure back to the mainland and we arrived mid afternoon in the midst of a very thick haar so couldn't see much about us at all.
I reversed into my hard standing so that the lounge was facing out to sea though I didn't really expect the haar to lift. After about an hour the sun started to burn through and within minutes we were basking in the hot sun. What a view from there, being elevated we could see for miles and the sunsets were beautiful.
This is a cracker of a site, perfect for getting away from it all. Very tidy and eco friendly too. There are no showers and only one unisex loo a short walk away through the site owners front garden. The loo itself may be old fashioned but it was spotlessly clean.
There was an adjacent field accessible from the site for the dogs to run around in and the local lanes are quiet enough for dog walking.
We will definitely return there.

Stayed for 5 nights. Quiet Location. Near St Margaret Hope ferry terminal on Ronaldsay.
Well maintained site. Excellent Views. Owners helpful and friendly. Electric Hookup. Water/waste close by.
Toilet is clean but a short walk from the site. The owners also have a small marine life aquarium.
Archeology on main island of Orkney was fascinating, as was site at lower end of Ronaldsay just discovered in the car park of the stunning Skerries Bistro or 'BanksofOrkney' - Gourmet food at very reasonable prices (you are advised to book if you want an evening meal).

The site is very quiet, with beautiful views. The owners run the Orkney Marine-Life Aquarium, which was a big hit with the kids. There is a toilet round beside the aquarium which can be used by the campers. The aquarium has a separate road in and car park, so we were not disturbed by the visitors at all.
There were electric hookups, a bin and fresh water on the site. The owner was very friendly and even brought us fresh eggs one morning.
The site is only a few minutes from the Pentland Ferry Terminal at St Margaret's Hope. We stayed for 4 nights, but wished it had been longer.
The Tomb of the Eagles at the south end of South Ronaldsay is very interesting and well worth a visit. There are also plenty of small white sandy beaches nearby, usually with no-one else on them.
