A very nice secluded campsite a few miles from Shrewsbury. Phil and Ros were excellent hosts thoughout our stay.
We stayed in the Gypsy Caravan to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary. Perfect setting.
Yes this is a basic site with just a toilet and cold water, but does everyone need all facilities to enjoy a few days of relaxation?
An ideal hideaway site in the country, going camping there next year and that Gypsy Caravan will be booked again soon I'm sure.

We stayed at the Acorns camp site at the beginning of July. The small holders and campsite owners Phil and Roz gave us a very friendly and warm welcome on our arrival. We put up our bell tent in the camping field over looking beautiful views of Shropshire. Initially we were only planning to stay for one night but ended staying for three. The facilities are very basic, but that's how we like it. It really feels like you have escaped.
We had the place to our selves for most of the time. We had access to running water and a porta loo. It was a real educational experience for my two year old daughter who got to meet Buttercup the cow and taste her milk. She was also fascinated by the ginger pigs and General the cockerel. Fresh organic vegetables, eggs and milk were all available from the small holding which was fantastic.
The campsite alone is a great place to explore with a pond and wildlife area at the bottom of the site. When we finally tore ourselves away Ellesmere is only 5 miles away. A lovely little town to mooch around with the mere to walk around and feed the ducks. The Black Lion Pub is a great place to stop for food.
This camp site is a great place to stay if you want to escape from it all. Its off the beaten track set in amoungst beautiful country side. Its very basic but very family friendly, we shall definitely visit again.
