It was our first camping experience, with 4 children. We are absolutely satisfied. Friendly and helpful staff.
The place was tidy, clean and safe. (The bathroom was nice and clean).
I recommend it to all those who want to spend a few days in nature, with simplicity and safety.
It's very beautiful!.

Lovely site overlooking rolling hills.
Very convenient for Hadrian's Wall and walks. Link to walk leaflet.
Clean shower and toilet facilities, although we didn't use them.

Very spacious CL set in large 'sloping' field adjacent to farm entrance with direct access off very quiet country lane. Neatly kept grass, chemical waste and cleansing tap in a fenced area at bottom of field, together with rubbish and re-cycling bins. Drinking water tap approx. Half way up the field. Very clean toilet/shower room, a short walk up drive, and within the main farm buildings' owners provide loo rolls, soaps, towel for hand wash etc. Owner very friendly, as a working farm you do not see them often, but even so, you are still made to feel very welcome. Lovely views, and sheep in adjacent field all help this peaceful ambience. Gilsland village some three miles away. We recommend advised route in Caravan Club handbook to get to and leave site which runs in off the A69, DON'T follow sat nav, as Cumbria has many narrow and twisty lanes unsuitable for caravans. With our four days there, we paid visits to Carlisle, Haltwhistle and Hexham(recommend the Abbey which is a marvellous building), from Hexham we returned via the B6318 'Roman' road (known as the military road)which basically follows line of Hadrians Wall, and associated forts, attractions all the way back to Gilsland and the site. This is also a good walking area. We highly recommend this site if you like a bit of peace and quiet, and for a c. L. This is a very good one and well looked after.

Just returned after spending 10 nights at Clarks Hill Farm,
Fantastic views from site. Very peaceful.
As previous reviewer said slightly slopping field but that not a problem. Facilities are located up at the farm building but only a short walk up the farm track always kept clean. Owners are very friendly.
Site is great location for visiting Hadrians Wall, Haltwhistle, Carlisle and great area for walking.

Lovely location, peaceful site. Slightly sloping field. The toilet and shower facilities, next to the farm a short walk up the track, are clean and well maintained. The only downside was the other occupants who had three dogs, although well behaved, were let off their leads. On leaving the site we noticed dog mess on site, shame that some dog owners spoil it for the rest of us.

Visited at the end of May 2011, the site is lovely & the owners Jane & Bruce are very helpful, however, we had picked this site over another site locally as its website indicated it was a Dales Pony Centre, when we arrived we were told by the 'new' owners that it had closed / moved a month ago so we had a very disappointed little daughter, also a couple from Shrewsbury had also chosen it for the same reason !
Other than that the site is very quiet, well kept & the grass pitches are slightly sloping.
There is a shower available which was very clean & even got some fresh eggs off the farmer.
Its location is about 3-4 miles from Gilsland (which has 2 pubs & a shop, although the shop is not open regular hours just seems to open when they feel like it) and is 9 miles from Brampton which has Co-op, Spar, butchers etc.
All in all a nice stay on a nice site with very helpful owners.
