Small but good campsite, on the edge of the Moselle river which can be cycled and close enough for a stroll into town.
Can be noisy with all the local activities, canoeing, market stall and trains, but a great stoppover for a few days.
10:30pm onwards, very peaceful.

We enjoyed our stay.
The site was clean and tidy though facilities were basic. We were given a warm welcome and liked the small hedges around the pitches.
There was a supermarket within a 10mins walk and the town closer than that. There were many choices to eat in town.
The situation between the park and river was pleasant.

Great site small 40 pitches but each pitch separated by mature hedges and a nice mix of trees so plenty of both sun and shade.
The site manager was very friendly and helpful, and the facilities were clean and tidy.
The site was located on the edge of the town so very convenient to walk into the town, our pitch was right on the edge of the river Mosel with only a promenade between us and the river.

This is a lovely typical municipal site. Only small with about 40 pitches, a variety of grass and hardstand are available and we were lucky enough to be allocated a grass pitch overlooking the Moselle and the footpath and cycle path. Madame who runs the site could not be more pleasant and helpful. She was such a lovely person. There is no vehicular access between 12 noon to 4 pm but a coded gate can be used to enter on foot and the car parked outside. We were the only Brits there yet this is a fabulous area for cycling and site seeing. Thionville is within easy walking distance with lots going on and Madame supplies you with all the information on arrival. You are directly on the Moselle cycle route from Koblenz to Metz which we completed over a 3 week holiday moving the caravan every 3 to 4 days. Excellent site and very inexpensive about 15 euros free showers and hot water to dish washing sinks. Not the most modern facilities but kept very clean. No play area for children but Parc Napoleon is next to the site with playground, gardens, donkey rides etc.

We used this site for an overnight stop en route to Italy. We did not pre book.
The site is about 10 minutes drive from the motorway but on the opposite side of town from the motorway. There are signs.
The site itself is on the banks of the Moselle but there is a footpath and wall between the site and the river.
We were allocated a hardstanding pitch which was more than adequate for our needs. Getting onto the pitch was easy. The toilets and showers are locked at lunchtime and not opened up again until the next morning. You are provided with a key enabling access at any time. I'm sure there are valid reasons for this. They were however spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water.
The site is within walking distance of the centre of town where there are a number of good bars and restaurants. The easiest way to get to the centre of town is to walk along the river.
One note of caution. Reception is not open until 4pm. If you arrive before this time you will have to wait outside. There is no vehicle access whilst the reception is closed even if you are already staying. You have to park outside and wait for reception.
Would I use the site again? Yes, definitely. This site is ideally situated if you are travelling to Switzerland or Italy and have used the Belgian motorways.
