Opening Dates this season: 21/03/2025 to 27/09/2025
Fisherground nestles in the beautiful Eskdale Valley, one of Cumbria`s loveliest valleys and close to Scafell, England`s highest mountain and Wastwater, England`s deepest body of water. Here on the West side of the Lake District we get less rain and more sun than our famous cousins the other side of Scafell.
In this quiet valley there is still the Peace and Tranquillity that should be Lakeland - but rarely is in the bustling centres. Here there are still more sheep than people.
Peace is the watchword on the Campsite too. We cater mainly for families and couples and every effort is made to ensure silence after 10.30pm. We welcome walkers and every effort is made to ensure you enjoy your stay with us.
Tents, motorhomes, VW-sized campervans, (well-behaved) dogs - yes. Noisy folks - no. We do not take caravans.
There are 140 grass pitches onsite, so you won`t struggle to find a space to pitch. Electric hook ups are also available.
We now take bookings via Fisherground website, and look forward to welcoming you when you arrive.
Facilities
We have recently refurbished our toilet block. It is modern, clean, airy and spacious. Includes hand dryers and hair dryers, toilets, and coin operated showers. There are ample deep sinks for washing-up. Hot water is free, and always available. There is a laundry room with a washing machine and large tumble dryer. A restricted mobility wet room. A drying room for outdoor wear and boot dryer for those of you who love walking whatever the weather. 2 large freezers (Free) for ice blocks only (not food and drink).
The facilities are cleaned routinely throughout the day and maintained to the highest standards.
The Adventure Playground
A children`s paradise, with rafts on the pond, and a tree house. A brand new Zip wire to a mini bouldering wall. Our play area now boasts a slide, new tyre swings, monkey bars, cargo nets and rope bridges. Giving hours of fun and adventurous play. Come and give it a try!

We are one of the few campsites in the Lake District where you can enjoy the pleasures of an open fire - only allowed in existing fire beds. Bags of logs complete with kindling and firelighters sold onsite each evening.
