I can only echo what others have said. Great spot if you like peace and quiet, and are happy with the basic, but well maintained facilities.

Cindy the dog and I were the only ones on the site, which suited me perfectly. We were surrounded by bird song, saw a barn owl, and a sky full of stars when it finally got dark.

Easy access to Llanmynech which is a beautiful walk, or Llangollen/Pontcysyllte 30 mins away.

Fran is lovely and friendly but not intrusive in any way! Wood from them was well seasoned for a perfect fire :)

I paid £30 for 2 nights.

I wouldn't bring small children unless prepared to supervise at all times as the lily pond is v open.

Really enjoyed this site and added bonus of all to ourselves!

Nice views, wildlife around, pretty Lillie pond.

Ordered a cooked full English for breakfast which was delivered to us at said time-lovely.

Friendly owners and nice and peaceful which is what we wanted.

Definitely stay again if in the area.

Thankyou for your hospitality.

This is a lovely setting and perfect for families.

Lots of places to eat and explore nearby and the setting itself is really safe for letting children run around.

The host allows for fire pits and barbecues which makes for a wonderful evening and to top it off Fran cooked us an epic breakfast in the morning and brought it to us!

Have never had that before when camping and definitely made for a top rating!

Will be back.

A perfect site for a genuine escape from it all. Lovely wild spot, no light pollution and an extremely friendly host who is always happy to share knowledge of the surrounding area.

The facilities are extremely basic, but very clean and well maintained (single portaloo cabin fitted with proper flushing toilet, a sink and an outdoor stop tap).

More than enough for the more self contained campers and a minor inconvenience when weighed against the unspoilt feel of the site.

We have stayed twice now and in both cases had the site to ourselves. We were also able to arrange a one off low fee to stay in the field for a single day (morning to evening) allowing us to arrange a perfect day with friends in a great location.

We will certainly be going again

A lovely peaceful site, a single clean flush toilet, sink and a tap. Fran the owner is very friendly, delivering firewood and basket direct to the pitch.

There is a pretty pond surrounded by a wild flower meadow, although this had gone over by September. There is a lane along the edge with a few early morning tractors, but after all it is the countryside.

We had one night with another tent at the opposite end of the site and one with just us and the pouring rain.

Considering the very British weather (or despite it) we had a couple of very relaxing nights.

Lovely quiet farmland campsite for those who savour peace and quiet.

Owner, Fran, very helpful and friendly; the breakfast, if ordered, is huge and comes in heat retaining packs. Has plumbed toilet (single) and wash hand basin. Both kept clean.

Dark skies and plenty of wildlife. Easy to overshoot the field if travelling from Argoed direction, be warned!

Pitch where you like and leave when you like, perfect.

Didn't visit Cross Keys pub, but the Royal Hill is a real unchanged locals pub with good selection of beers. Both a drive away though.

A wonderful site. A lot of space, v peaceful, lovely views, beautiful countryside, very quiet when we were there, which is what we like.

Toilet good, water supply v near to hand.

Fran, hostess, very friendly and helpful, and thought of everything we might need.

Really enjoyed the campfire (only cost £5, 3 nights worth of wood).

Totally recommend.

A basic campsite in a beautiful location.

Only water and a small toilet provided. But the field was lovely to walk around and the farmer owner was very nice.

2 good pubs within 1. 5 miles - a nice cycling distance if you don't want to drive.

This was the most beautiful, tranquil, quiet campsite with pitches mown separated by metre high wild flower meadow in full bloom.

Fran is the most helpful host and set us up with a fire pit, wood and her own honey.

Surrounding country deep natural hedgerows and sleepy winding lanes of hidden uk countryside.

We loved it!
