 The most beautiful natural meadow I have ever seen. We pitched our tents in one corner and had the most perfect view across the field, over the pond and into the next as we opened our tent zip in the morning.
This is a proper back-to-nature pitch, with fresh water on tap but no toilet facilities. We had no problem with this however as it's the perfect antidote to city living. Fran and Brian, the farm owners, couldn't have been more hospitable, offering the use of their toilet, bathroom and washing machine, delivering freshly baked scones on arrival and fresh farm eggs whenever we needed them.
I wouldn't hesitate in going back to find this gem of a field as the hosts were so friendly and helpful, and the surrounding area is stunning. The nearest pubs are a mere 15 minute cycle away, where you can get delicious pub grub and a pint or two, with a view of the river too!
We had fires every evening in the large brassier on site, using firewood supplied by the farm.
I can't wait to go back and get some more of their delicious eggs and honey!
