Years since we were last here, entrance to site is by a lane right past Roslyn chapel,
Key code barrier pitches are hardstanding and grass
Toilet block is clean and well maintained 2 toilets/showers in each washer available, no play area,
Short walk to village with a pub doing good food a co-op further into village and a general dealers,
Bus to Edinburgh is regular and runs all night, Asda about 2 mile away

Only thing for me was our caravan twin axle was slightly too long for our pitch so hitch was just into the road

Great quiet & compact site. Having sent my booking enquiry the friendly owner phoned me to confirm details etc, very efficient.
Given this was a Bank Holiday Saturday & during the Edinburgh Festival the cost was very competitive.
I was met by the owner on arrival who explained where everything was and allocated pitch.
Toilet block was very clean.
The site was full but it was extremely quiet. Great location next to Roslyn Chapel and you could easily get the bus into Edinburgh from the main road.
Overall a nice site & I would return again. I left @ 06:45 on the Sunday so just hope I didn't make too much noise !

Lovely site, very well laid out with spacious pitches.
The toilet/shower block was always clean, and though there are only 2 toilets and 2 showers in each of the 2 toilet blocks, they were never overly busy. There is a laundry room with washing machine, dryer, large sink for hand washing clothes, and an ironing board.
Entrance is via a secure gate, for which a code is needed and a code is also needed for the toilet blocks.
There is an ample supply of leaflets by reception and the owners give you lots of good information on arrival.
The site is just behind the famous Rosslyn Chapel of "The davinci code" fame.
The bus to Edinburgh stops at the end of the lane, 10 minutes walk from the site, and runs approximately every half hour. It also runs into the early hours from Edinburgh.
We had a lovely meal at the village pub, and can highly recommend the steak in ale pie with creamy mash and seasonal vegetables! There is a convenience store and coop in the village too though larger supermarkets are only 10 minutes drive away.
There are lots of lovely walks round and about the site. Though we don't have a dog ourselves, we noticed that dogs were welcome if kept on a lead.
We would definitely use this handy little site again.

This was our second visit to Slatebarns. (Our first during the Festival in 2019) We returned because the site is so well managed and kept immaculately clean.
We wanted to revisit Edinburgh outside the Festival to avoid the crowds. There's a convenient bus service into Edinburgh which, combined with proximity to Roslyn Chapel and the Pentland hills made it an ideal base for a mix of city sightseeing and country walks.
A huge Asda is close by - We did a click and collect shop, and there are 2 convenience stores in Roslin too.
We don't have children so it didn't affect us but there's no play area for them to let off steam.

Great place, nice people.
Quiet.
Large pitch sites.
Nice showers but have to push the button. Walk to the bus and to the store.
The lady that ran the place was always available.
The only down side, the laundry was expensive. Had to run the dryer two cycles to get everything dry and it was expensive. Also must use their tokens.

Well situated site to get into Edinburgh as the bus stop is outside the site entrance, 20 minutes and in city.
Very helpful and friendly staff.
The pitches are packed in tightly. Quite site away from roads.
The toilet and shower facility requires a major improvements.
Would stay again.
