We booked for 1 night prior to catching the morning Dover ferry. We were a 8. 2m motorhome travelling from Yorkshire and we came along M2/A2/A260.

Turning right into the drive needed a little manoeuvring but upon leaving the site to go to the ferry we just had to turn right, back onto A260 then A20 and it was 12 mile to ferry.

This site is an ideal stopover. Leanne showed us around and as others have said there are no showers but very clean toilets and access to water.

Pitches were a great size and we chose a hardstanding pitch with electric.

It was £22 pn and is open all year.

We will definitely use this site again.

Great site with a bus stop right outside the gate. Buses to Canterbury and Folkestone.

No showers but 24 hour toilets and all the other usual facilities.

Made really welcome on arrival.

Children's play area in the middle of the site but we visited in September after schools had returned.

Two good pubs both a short bus ride away(approx 1. 5 miles) in either direction!

A little gem in our opinion.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Chequers. Although we arrived after 6. 00 pm we were met with a very pleasant greeting from Leanne who gave us several options as to where we parked our motorhome.

The site is beautiful with lots of nice plants and coloured lights when it got dark.

Toilets were very clean. No showers which for a motorhomer is absolutely no issue at all.

We once stayed at a C&C campsite close by and would never use it again as we were late due to traffic and had the owners ringing us complaining about our lateness.

We were guided onto the main road in the morning by a member of staff as there was lots of commuter traffic so not to have an accident. It was quiet at night.

We will stay here again for sure and highly recommend this site.

Great value, great site and lovely people. Well done Leanne!

Sehr schone gepflegte saubere Anlage.

Very nice, well-kept, clean facility. The owners are friendly, helpful and accommodating. The place is quiet and dog-friendly.

Unfortunately, the facility does not have any showers, but otherwise everything is there and lovingly designed

Highly recommended. Leanne responded to my enquiry within hours. Welcome was very warm and friendly. We have 4 dogs (yes four) and that was no problem. Hardstanding with plenty of space between pitches. Nice garden to walk the dogs (on lead of course …. Not a problem).

We had to leave before 9 am to catch our Channel Tunnel crossing and Leanne’s husband rushed out to help us turn onto the road (which is fairly busy at rush hour but not a problem for the stay).

We will be staying with them every time we visit the UK in future rather than paying more than double at the nearby site we used to use. Well done Leanne

We've stayed here on previous occasions the last time being 3 years ago. we booked in for 3 nights and were not disappointed upon our return.

We were greeted by leanne who surprisingly remembered us. she made sure we had enough water before directing us to our pitch, which is a really good size and they all face the playground area

There is also a dog walking and washing up area

The site areas are clearly marked as what was to go where

The toilet facilities were spotless but there are no showers

There is a bus stop right outside which will take you to folkestone in one direction and Canterbury in the other, they run every 20 mins and take roughly half an hour to get to

There is also a small village about 5 mins by car up the road called hawkinge which has a tesco express and a lidl and there is a lovely pub a bit further on called the White horse, which serve a good meal

This site is fantastic value for money and we will definitely be returning

Nice little park for kids and various things for them to do.

And most of all very well priced at £18 pn including electric and very clean loo, s

Very nice welcome from Simon and Leanne[the owners].

Well laid out site, bus stop right outside entrance.

Only downside was lack of washing facilities[hot water].

Were travelling to Channel Tunnel. Our usual stopover wouldn’t take Mhomes in case we spoilt their field. 2 days before we left home we found Chequers on your site so booked one night.

The traffic on the way there was horrendous & our expected 4 hour journey became 6.

The weather was very wet & it was dark when we arrived. Leanne phoned to see if we were OK then gave us a lovely welcome.

We were tired & depressed on arrival but the site and owners were wonderful to us and our cats!

We only stayed one night but will certainly go again.
