Red Kite Touring Park delivers as a touring site from arrival to departure on the site itself.
Had a fabulous welcome from Chantelle who showed us to our lovely pitch and explained everything to use including the metered electric process.
The site is tiered, with most units having a South facing position.
The pitches are gravel hardstanding, serviced with water and waste, and are large and for the most part flat. We were on P44 which had a lovely view of the valley below, with a slight hill back up to the first class and always clean facilities.
The site does have about 20% of pitches for seasonal units, leaving about 50 for tourers. For most of our time here the site was quiet, and the scenery around the site is wonderful.
There are a few walks that we tried, but as we are near the Cambrian Hills they had some steep up/ down hill parts. Same goes for cycling, we went to the Clywedog Dam and to climb the last 100yds we had to get off and walk up.
The walk into Llanidloes takes 20m and coming back there is another couple of steep hills to get back to site. The town was nice enough, but the opening hours for many shops are limited either in times of day or days open.
The only downside for us was the fact that the nearest pub and bus stop is in Llanidloes, which limits the options of campers who don't have a car to use as to where you can go without having to climb the hills at the end to get back to site.
Would love to return, but not in a Motorhome along with bad knees!

A perfect site with a perfect view.
This is everything you could want from an adult site, peace, tranquility, great views and lovely clean facilities with friendly wardens.
A brisk walk from the nearest village or short car ride.
If you desire a pizza for your evening meal then you can order on the site.
The site is good for travelling to sight seeing areas of interest.
We’ve been here twice on the fully serviced pitches and loved it. We would definitely go back again. This sites sets the bar high for other campsites to follow.

This was our first outing in our trailer tent and we were not sure what to expect. Well we did not need to worry. The welcome when we arrived could not have been friendlier.
The warden that greeted us took us to our pitch and explained everything even offering to help setup if we needed it. The site was immaculate.
The facilities (showers and toilets) so clean and well maintained. The dog walking area was beautiful and enclosed and the rules of having your dog/s on leads on the main site was a good one as there were so many dogs.
Everything was so peaceful. All the staff were friendly. For our first experience I could not fault it and would recommend it to anyone. It is adult only which is what we wanted.
If I have one complaint it was not the site it was one or two dog owners did not clean up after their dogs so we had to do it for them just to keep it clean!
However, a fantastic couple of nights. Thank you for having it on your list

Excellent site very well maintained superb dog facilities including off lead training area, dog wash inc drier, dog pond and loads of local walks.
Spotless washroom facilities and shop at reception, only a mile walk into Llanidloes.
Great location just 20mins from red kite feeding centre and Elan Valley resevoirs, a beautiful area for walks and cycling and awesome biews
Nothing we did not like our only suggestion would be for more than one poo bag bin, otherwise a superb site

This is our second stay at Red Kite Touring Park and it didn't disappoint.
It is an absolutely beautiful site, well manicured, everything you need at your pitch.
We attended during the King's coronation, and they'd arranged an event in order to celebrate, singers, barbecue, bar, had a lovely afternoon.
We visited the dam, Hafren Forrest, absolutely stunning.
Definitely recommend to visit.

Easy check-in with the warden, Chantelle, who walked us to our pitch, in the pouring rain.
Once she noticed we had cats she fetched some treats for them, a very nice gesture.
The pitch was very big and we had not only EHU, fresh water and grey waste but also a CDP provided we were using green chemicals, which we were.
We also had steps to a small patio behind our pitch.
The laundry is not expensive with a top loader washing machine and a tumble drier.
The toilets are absolutely immaculate. Always very clean.
There is a path toward Llanidloes, to miss out the part of the road without a pavement.
The town is very cute and has a superb bakery providing Eccles cakes the size of dinner plates!
The walk back to the site is steepbut manageable even with three dodgy knees between the two of us.
We took full advantage of thepatio for an afternoon in the sunshine.
Clywedog reservoir is very close which has excellent fly fishing.
The reception sells drinks including alcohol free beers, a bonus for some of us.
This site is adults only.

Excellent site. Very big, hard standing pitches with services.
Shower block was top quality with taps, toilet etc operated by sensors.
Very rural with scenic views across the valley.
On the edge of the village with a steep walk down but with a challenging climb of approximately 30 minutes back.
Really welcoming warden who took us to our pitch and was very informative.

Lovely well set out site, with hardstanding pitches, easy to find,
Information on local area walks etc in reception
Lovely shower and toilets block,
Friendly staff, really helpful let us borrow tv and ariel as ours packed in 1st night, and phone charger, as I forgot mine,
The town is a mile away, bit of a hill but not too bad, there are around 6 pubs, 2 Indian restaurants and a couple of chip shop and cafés,
Nice walks by the river, also good site for dogs and 3 fishing pools
Would definitely recommend,

Very pleasant site with friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble.
The site and facilities are very clean.

Excellent well spaced pitches with all facilities including toilet emptying point.
Friendly staff, bottles of Prosecco gifted for New Year celebrations, and fireworks right outside.
Short walk into interesting village and lovely scenic walks from the site.
