This campsite is a wonderful place. When you arrive you think, how beautiful. Beautiful view, beautiful country house, nice people. But a lot goes wrong. During the evening it fills up with groups of hikers, campers and people who come to sleep in the permanent tents with entire families.
Everyone gets a place, even though it is no longer possible. Toilets are each in the same room as the showers, which means there are queues in front of them (and not so fresh). The power supply is overloaded and fails, and there is 1 uncovered washing-up area without hot water.
If you look at the staff kindly, you can fill your basin with warm water in the laundry room. Breakfast is included but consists of instant coffee, very dry rolls with jam, for example, and if you are on time there is some yogurt.
In the evening everything is well equipped with festive lighting. What I thought was a shame was that the promised campfire was only allowed on the back field.
In itself you can get over it all, but it is strange that you have to pay 50 pounds for this fair, and after arrival (have you paid??) no one looks after you anymore. And I don't believe the story that the proceeds go to refugees and the homeless either. Final result a 4.5!

Deze camping is een wonderlijke plek. Als je aankomt denk je, wat prachtig. Mooi uitzicht, mooi landhuis, aardige mensen.

Site was on the grounds of a gorgeous
Location a lovely hotel, we were greeted by the owner and given choice to stay wherever we wanted.
We enjoyed a nice meal, by lovely staff, an choice of free tea, coffee all evening.
A continental breakfast, was on offer for all, cereals, pastries, toast, yoghurts which was a nice touch.
Overall a very pleasant experience.

Its NOT 5 STARS. No hot water to wash up/showers tired and small.
£40 pound a night. Breakfast was a joke!
It not for touring caravan. Its advertised as having a laundry. No such thing. Don't believe what it says on the website!

Highly recommend for it’s individuality and informality. The campsite is in a beautiful area, wooded, with views overlooking the hills to one side.
It has easy access to the walk from Milngavie to Fort William, a good hike or bike, taking approximately a week (5 days if you hurry).
The owner, Andrew, has a relaxed approach which is a welcome change from the formal, corporate sites I’ve visited.
The place is like an artwork, a work in progress, so don’t expect it to be quite the same next visit. In fact it’s more like visiting someone’s home where you meet the pets (some lovable brown dogs who greet all visitors, accept all tidbits freely offered, and generally look after everyone).
Breakfast is in a lovely dining room where campers and guests mingle. It’s a ‘help yourself’ affair, take your time, and make plans for the day.
For evening meals there is a menu, and Chef, who is a treasure, takes orders personally. The whole experience was like nowhere else and the flexible, individual approach is a refreshing change. I liked the layout which is quite compact yet spacious. No long walks to the facilities.
All-in-all a very nice experience and one worth repeating.

Ok I have read some reviews prior to coming here. Some of them negatives and some very positive. Such as no soap in toilets and prices not made clear. We found soap in the toilets and prices very clear.
The prices are expensive £20 per person but not when there is tea coffee and hot chocolate in a common room with a cosy fire.
Breakfast also, this is toast with spreads, yoghurts, fruit and pastries (in plastic bags, it Scotland not France )
Also there are charging stations for your phone.
So with this in mind things seem more value. This is a big plus.
There are only two showers and 4 toilets so when busy patients required. There no hot water in 2 of the toilets.
The tent pitches are level and grassy
There are no sinks for dishwashing.
The biggest negative by FAR is dog poo. Dog mess dog s@it. Dog residual mess after pick up. We woke up out of tent and poo by us. Love the dogs but not that much.
Andrew the owner is charming and rushing around asking if everything is ok, chatty and bit of a character, but the dog mess trumps all the positives. That’s why 1 star not 5. Sorry.
This views are lovely and location just of the west highland way. Well sign posted, by foot.

Although the location is scenic, getting onto the site is hard due to poor signage from the main road and the track leading up to the site.
On arrival we were met by the owner and his dogs, if he wasn’t there we may have been struggling as there is no reception / check in.
We were then given the choice of where to park up, however as there was no marked out pitches we had to reposition a couple of times as it didn’t suit, although there is no marked out pitches.
The site also had ongoing grounds works which wasn’t passed on at the time of booking. Problems with the electrics constantly tripping was blamed on visitors using domestic appliances, this culminated in a complete powers outage which lasted several hours mid stay. The amenities consisted of four small toilets, two of which had a shower cubicle, with hot water also non existent during our stay.
Signage for the grey and chemical disposal was missing, with motor homes dropping their grey water straight onto the hardcore standing to the side of main house.
The previously mentioned dogs were left to roam around the areas unattended and we had to pick up dog faeces which was left lying there. During two night, the dogs were also heard running round the pitches barking at whatever it was that was out there and this lasted for about 15 mins before they were taken inside.
I’m not happy about having to write these comments, however for the benefit of others who maybe considering a stay, this is the honest truth. We never stayed for the whole duration and left early without asking for a refund.
Hopefully points raised will be addressed as owners intentions are good, only the site needs to be run better”as doesn’t deliver what’s on the website”.
